Miss Shirley's always makes you feel welcome. The staff and atmosphere are friendly and low key. The food is great and a little bit different--enough so that you want to come back and try something new. Their fried green tomatoes are rated Best in Maryland by Southern Living magazine.

So disappointing. The food seems to not be as good as it use to. They changed the Crab cake & fried green tomato eggs benedict dish for the worst. It's disappointing because that was my favorite dish.

Edit: now that I came back to miss shirleys and honestly waited for some time after going and having a bad experience some time ago I can honestly say I don’t want to go back. Food lacked flavor and heat(when you order something meant to be hot and it isn’t nice and cold) you no longer want to eat. Server was nowhere to be found, coffee was watered down, was way too loud, and I just couldn’t figure out why it was so expensive and horrible. You get hyped on DDD and you have a few locations (good on you) but you can’t serve food with flavor or even fresh or at proper temp? Sorry but I won’t be coming. Thought I would enjoy it a second time around and now I won’t be going back for a 3rd time ever. I tried and it was worse than before.

Not bad but my food was cold and the food for the three of us took more than 40 minutes and there weren’t many tables occupied

Parking: Can’t find parking unless you feel like walking a few blocks. 8 spots maybe in the back is not enough for this place.

The gravy train southern skillet was such a mess and horrible...and I omited the sunny side up egg...what a waste. The deviled eggs were to die for. Bae said his pancakes were just ok. I Sent that horrible dish back and opted for 2 pieces of bacon & a sausagelink. Worst $80 spent ever. $20 was my tip.
