Monarque definitely under delivered. This was my first time attending and the best part of my dining experience was the burlesque show. The performances were okay. I ordered the short rib ravioli. The ravioli was hard. I'm not for sure why, but I would give it a 3/5. The sauce was very good however. I also ordered the seabass and that was a 3/5. It wasn't exciting to eat but not nasty. The cauliflower bits they added tasted better than the fish in my opinion. I didn't bother to order dessert because I was ready to go. Not for sure if I'd be back for dinner but maybe happy hour at the bar.
Overall, we had a nice time at Monarque. We got seated relatively close to the stage, which was nice, but at the same time, the music so loud that it was hard to have a conversation. When there was a break in the show, you could have a conversation again. The food and drinks are extremely pricey for what you get, and the quality is hit or miss depending on the items. Pastas were all undercooked, much of the food was too salty, and portion size of the steak was extremely small for the cost. The Brussels sprouts and dessert were decent. I suspect part of the high prices is to cover the cost of the entertainment, which I understand. Service was ok, but food took a long time to come out. We were not in a rush, so it was ok, but keep this in mind if you have other plans afterwards. Entertainment was fun, but the towards the end, it started to get a little repetitive since it was just 2 dancers. Ambience was nice, and I don't regret going, but I probably won't come back.
The best I can explain is that all of the elements of the experience are competing with each other. The establishment needs balance. The volume is an assault. You can't hear the emcee/singer over the band. You can't hear your companions over either. The dessert was over processed and most of us didn't eat the s'mores creme brûlée we ordered. You couldn't taste the creme or the s'more. It was a brown sugary firm pudding with a crazy sweet topping that wasn't anything like the toasted marshmallow that we would expect. Back off the crazy flavor and let us taste the elements. My husband's steak was cooked perfectly, but lacked salt or pepper. My chicken was seared and leathery in some spots and perfect in others; excellent flavor on the chicken but too much sauce. I didn't ask the couple that joined us because the second set had started and we weren't able to hear each other again. By far, the appetizers were the shining star. The steak tartare was supple with great flavor. An additional slightly salty crunch element to top it would have been nice, but the crostini did the job. As far as the show went, the band was nicely blended, but I think I've made my point about the volume. They should be accompanying the acts, now overpowering them. I feel so bad for the people sitting in front of the stage. That must have been horrible. The seating certainly wasn't conducive to watching the show. My back was to the stage, so I had to turn around to see; meaning I now couldn't hear or see the people I was with. It definitely wasn't worth the price and I think this will be our only visit.

Unfortunately, this was a very disappointing experience from start to finish.
Despite having a reservation, we waited over 50 minutes to be seated. While waiting, the manager attempted to compensate us by offering champagne (that no one drink) which we declined and instead requested wine. We were told no to that request. We were also told that appetizers would be comped due to the delay, but that promise was never honored; we still paid for appetizers.
Once seated, the waiter Victor was very nice and even did a special cake celebration for my friend’s birthday. The food was just okay; However one of the individuals bringing out food made a nasty and unprofessional remark, my friend asked for salt and he stated “I’m not your waiter darling” in a snarky tone which was completely unnecessary and uncomfortable.
Most concerning, I fell inside the establishment, and no one came to check on me—no staff member, no manager, no follow-up at all. This was extremely alarming and showed a serious lack of care, attention, and professionalism.
Overall, between the excessive wait time, broken promises, inappropriate staff behavior, and complete disregard for a guest’s safety and well-being, this experience fell far below expectations. I would be hesitant to return.

Food was good! The environment was what we were expecting and had a great time. Service was good too! The food could improve a bit on flavor. The Brussels sprouts were the highlight of the night.
Weekday dining was quiet and not very crowded. Service was fantastic. Constant care. Side dishes were great. The burger and filet mignon were both great. The steak part of the steak frites was just okay. Overall we loved the experience. Plan to order something different on my next visit.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. But for some reason tonight it could been better! I needed different menu options. I've eat here so many times, I needed a new menu option or maybe I should take a leave of absence. The one mistake they've made was to take a desert off the menu. I can't remember what it was called, but it was a crepe. It was like none other, no other restaurant in Baltimore had this! The deserts they have now can be found at any chain restaurant like Fridays 😐😮💨
This visit was blah...

Food, service & vibe was unparalleled. Had an incredible time & the best French onion soup ever.
We wanted to try French for dinner and this place didn't disappoint. The food was amazing and the band and burlesque show made the evening even more enjoyable. You should definitely give this restaurant a try.

I will definitely be returning! My friends and I came to celebrate a birthday and our experience couldn’t have gone any better. Chef Parks was amazing, I ordered the Wild Mushroom Vol-Au-Vent and it was bursting with flavors and the perfect texture. Also the desserts were to die for! Ambience would be a great place for a date night as well.

Listen I have never had a better dining experience in my life. From the service, to the show to the chef coming out so we could commend him on how phenomenal the meal was. We celebrated my friends birthday and we could not have asked for a better place.
