Stopped in before a roadtrip- we had breakfast sandwiches on delicious English muffins and an honestly euphoric oatmeal cookie dipped in coffee.

I cannot speak highly enough of Ovenbird Bakery and their exceptional Struan loaf. This bread has become my absolute favorite of all time, and I find myself returning regularly just for the opportunity to bring home a fresh loaf.

Very cute, small dog friendly bakery with lovely drink selections and baked goods! Their banana bread latte was fantastic!

The staff member at the checkout counter (a young, White female wearing glasses) demonstrated a significant lack of engagement with customers. I observed no greeting, no thank-you, and no eye contact during my entire transaction. Initially, I wondered if this was targeted behavior; however, upon observing her interactions with some other patrons while awaiting my order, I noted that she treated them identically. During checkout, she was distracted, focused on biting her nails, which was unprofessional. Later, while dining outside, I overheard other customers expressing similar dissatisfaction.

My recommendation to potential visitors is straightforward: if you see her when entering the store, consider seeking service elsewhere, as she is most likely to ruin your precious day. Fortunately, this town has several other bakeries and cafes offering comparable or superior bread and coffee, so I will not be returning.

I go here every Saturday morning before my 12 hour waitressing shift and they never disappoint. The croissants are SO GOOD. My favorite is the chocolate and pistachio croissants but the almond is really good too. My only suggestion is that they need to have 2 percent milk because I hate having whole milk or nondairy alternatives. This place is like a neighborhood staple and everyone that works there is very friendly :)

The cheddar bacon chive scone and the blueberry lemon scone were fantastic! I also tried the banana espresso muffin which was good, but it was topped with salt and I think it should have been topped with sanding sugar instead. Lastly, I had the lox bagel sandwich which was good, but just average. I would definitely recommend this place for their pastries.

Pastries were sold cold, no offer to warm up. Pastry would have been 10/10 warm

Chai latte lacked flavor.

Customer service lacking. Agree with others no greeting, thanks, smile; or eye contact given by barista.

I recently had a piece of the peach coffee cake, which looked and sounded good. The display piece is way bigger than what they give you, first of all, and second it came cold and was as dense and thick as a brick. Tasted fine but not trying to break my teeth. Also, it came in this large plastic to go container. Why? My americano was fine though.

I went there twice and the food was very stale and quite disappointing overall, also very overpriced.

So cute! I got an ube iced latte and it was delicious, their pastries looked so good. I’ll definitely be coming back for some bread as well. Small seating area inside, as well as outside.

What can we do to bring you to the Northern VA/DC area? By far the best bagels in the area if you are willing to be open minded about your definition of a bagel! Soft, fluffy, sourdoughish, perfectly sized instead of those huge, intimidating blobs of jaw breaking dough, and the seasonings do justice to the baked good. 7 year old loved her lemon blueberry scone, mom loved her almond croissant and everything bagel, aunt loved her bagel burrata sandwich and everyone enjoyed the Nutella bar. If we didn’t have a day packed with touristy activities in the scorching sun, we would have also bought multiple loaves of bread to take back. Please consider opening a location or two on this side of DMV.

Yes, the staff, service, and coffee is topnotch too!

The savory Danish and spinach quiche were perfect. Bought some sourdough will update after we try.

I tried the breakfast burrito at Ovenbird and was disappointed. The bacon wasn’t crispy, the eggs had no seasoning or butter flavor, and overall it was bland. It also could’ve used one more egg and more cheese, since I mostly tasted tortilla folds instead of a tightly wrapped, filled burrito. The cheese was stuck in the folds of the tortilla rather than melting into the eggs and bacon, which made the whole thing feel unbalanced.
