We arrived around 9:30pm looking to have drinks and maybe appetizers, if the kitchen was still open. Staff suggested we head to the upstairs bar but midway up the stairs another staff member told us it was closed. We continued upstairs to use the restroom and quickly learned that the bar/section was not closed and others were still being seated. There were people at the bar and open seats as well. Our party was a good size since we were celebrating a milestone birthday. If the staff couldn't accomodate us because of our party size, they should have been honest. Instead, we left with a terrible taste in our mouths and it wasn't because of the food or drinks.

Great experience here. The staff are friendly, professional and attentive. The food was good with GF options. The atmosphere is calm and well decorated and clean.
Is Rye Street Tavern Worth It? Atmosphere, Crab Cakes & Rockfish Review
Rye Street Tavern in Baltimore is a fantastic spot that combines a beautiful waterfront atmosphere with top-notch food and attentive service.
The dining room and outdoor patio overlook the harbor, giving you great views that make it perfect for a night out or a special occasion. The atmosphere feels upscale but relaxed, with a modern tavern style that fits the Baltimore Peninsula location well.
The crab cakes are excellent—packed with lump crab, nicely seasoned, and exactly what you hope for from a Baltimore seafood restaurant. The rockfish is equally impressive, cooked perfectly and full of flavor, and it really shows off the strength of their seafood-focused menu. Along with a selection of Mid-Atlantic and Southern-inspired dishes, it’s easy to build a meal where every course hits the mark.
Service is warm and professional, with staff who are knowledgeable about both the food and the drink list. From greeting to checkout, the team makes you feel taken care of, which matches the quality of the kitchen and the setting.
Overall, Rye Street Tavern is an excellent restaurant that delivers on atmosphere, crab cakes, rockfish, and genuinely wonderful service—well worth a visit if you’re in Baltimore.

I have to say that the service was amazing. Sitting at the bar is like have 4 different servers waiting on you. Big shout out to my girl and should be yours, Amy! She's super bubbly and on point. London is equally nice and the staff in general is viola. Thanks again and I'll be back (Terminator

While the drinks and food were really tasty and the ambience is gorgeous and unique, Rye Street Tavern struggles a little bit in the staff department. Our waitress wasn't particularly happy to be working the other night and made sure that we knew it. Both of our rounds of drinks took much longer than our food to arrive (which, in fairness, was record time). It seems to me that the kitchen knows what it's doing. All in all, we'll be back, but it will be despite the service, not because of it.
Really enjoyed our Valentine's dinner there. Our first visit. Will go again! Service lacked a little in that we had to wait 15 minutes after our reserved time. Server was not real attentive either.
Had a great Valentine's Day dinner with my wife, excellent service and the food was delicious, I highly recommend the Trout, it's the best I have had in Maryland. The hostess and waitress were excellent and the view from our table of the peninsula was great. I highly recommend you go if you have never been.

Just want to say im a huge fan of the Monte Cristo sandwich, and this place just took first place, also I believe this might be a lunch time item. Everything was pretty good for the most part, some things were lacking flavor like the deviled eggs, just needed a lil salt&pepper, as well as the shrimp spaghetti which also need a bit more lemon, which we could and did at the table but shouldn't have. Also ordered two desserts and the ice cream scoops wasnt adequate enough to get through to the last bite. Went on the weekend where there is a mandatory 20% tip, when this is the case I feel the service is lacking because you don't have to earn it, in my experience there was to much time between our server checking on us. Might seam like alot, but this is a spot you must try.
Our first time at the Tavern (after re-opening) coincided with Valentine's Day. Predictably, the place was buzzing. However, it didn't affect the service, which was quick, attentive and courteous. Extras like horseradish and Tabasco for the oyster shot were delivered promptly and with a smile. Liked the food: steak and eggs (perfectly executed medium rare steak with a ramekin of lemony and smooth sauce hollandaise), trout with green beans (I not a fan of the skin but this time it was crispy and well seasoned), and crabcake eggs Benedict (generous portion of crabmeat, nice sauce). Drinks were tasty and potent! We'll be back :)
Had a 6:15 reservation for four and called four hours ahead to move it to 6:45. I was told this was not a problem, but when we arrived we were informed tables are only held 15 minutes past the original time. We were luckily seated at the bar, but the miscommunication was frustrating.
Parking was also difficult with no nearby spots. I enetered an outdoor parking garage while looking for parking, and I was charged a double amound, 10$ for 2 minutes entering the outdoor parking section and 10$ for the indoor section. I will be contesting the duplicate charge and not the first time I've had trouble with parking there.
Overall the experience felt disorganized and stressful for what should have been a simple dinner.

Perfect from the time we walked through the door ! Our server Alexa was spot on, answering questions, offering suggestions, personable and timed our order perfectly! Highly recommend!
The food was exceptional for brunch. We had biscuits, grits, chicken and waffles, and oyster Benedict. The portions were adequate and we left very stuffed and satisfied. Bloody Mary's were delicious, but coffee was just ok. Not very robust. Paying for parking was off putting. First two hours were free, but a third hour was expensive at almost $17.
