Sakoon Indian Fusion Restaurant

I have been a loyal customer of your restaurant for a long time, usually dining with my family at least once a month. I have always been satisfied with the food and service and never had any complaints—until my most recent visit.

During dinner this week, I noticed something very concerning in the kitchen. Some chefs and helpers were drinking alcohol, and the bottles were placed on the same table where customer food was being prepared. Since your restaurant markets itself as serving only halal food, this was very disappointing to see.

As someone who eats only halal food and avoids alcohol, this experience makes me question the authenticity of your halal standards. If the restaurant does not strictly serve halal food, that should be made clear. However, promoting everything as halal while having alcohol in the preparation area is misleading and unacceptable.

I am not trying to harm your business, but I do feel it is important to mention that customers who eat only halal food due to their faith and beliefs expect and deserve honesty and respect. I have always trusted your restaurant, but after this incident, I no longer feel confident dining here unless this issue is addressed.

It was a fine Indian buffet. Depends on what / where you are comparing this with (Edison, NJ - where we come from), then - well we have plenty of options :-). But for our travel, this was wonderful :-)

Over the past 4 years, I have stopped by almost every week for a Sakoon buffet and many times to celebrate special occasions. My family and friends look forward to our Sakoon visit! Love the food, how patient and friendly the staff is, the atmosphere with lovely bollywood music-- there is nothing to complain about. Sakoon set the bar very high for us!

We had papdi chat and chilli chicken both were amazing. This place is also on the too good to good and I have tried their veg and non veg food both. I reccomend the non veg cause I think that was better the place is nice and cozy.

Delicious and great value. When I was looking at the menu I thought they seemed a bit expensive but DAMN you get a lot of food here! We got a saarg, samosa chaat, and a tandoor chicken kabab - all v good. The chicken exceptionally juicy and well seared. The samosa chaat was under $10 but that in itself could easily feed 2 people, and it had a nice chili kick to it. We will be eating happily the leftovers for days and will definitely come back. 10/10 recommend
