The store has a smell as you stand at the counter. There’s a red tray on the counter that has collected dust on it. All of the powders were left open and the counters were filthy - behind the counter and on the left side where you receive your order. The blenders were stacked in the sink. One of the works pulled one out that had water sitting at the bottom of it. Someone should go inspect is or do some form of maintenance/health check.

Most people don’t check reviews for airport food spots, but just in case you’re weighing your options at BWI, here’s a heads-up.

I ordered the Coffee High Protein Almond Mocha with cold brew (you can also choose espresso), and unfortunately… it was not good. The flavor was off and very chalky, and just not enjoyable. I couldn’t even finish it.

The price after tax was close to $12, which made it feel like a waste—though the saving grace was that it was a 32 oz. Still, I wish I had picked something else. Avoid this one and go for a safer choice.

Nonexistent customer service and unsanitary

There was no one there when I walked up. I waited a few minutes and still no one came out. There was banging in the back as someone was moving around pans. After another minute or so, I called out, “Hello?”, but got not response.

Meanwhile, I’m looking around and the place was looking less than spotless. There was a particularly unsightly looking bucket of peeled, browning bananas that looked as though they were being discarded just sitting around.

A couple more minutes pass and still more banging and no one popping their head out. More calling out “Hello” and more silence. At this point, other prospective customers had waited for a bit and left.

When someone finally came into sight, they were still in the back, but visible and acting as if they were in no hurry to do anything—she didn’t even look in the direction of the register. I said hello again and asked if they were open. She didn’t say a word—she just took off her gloves, walked out from the back, and stood behind the register looking at me in silence. I tried to order an açaí bowl, but she said they were out. I ordered a mixed berry smoothie with bananas and at least they had that.

As I’m pulling out my wallet to pay, I see her pick up an ice cream scoop and start scooping banana out of that same, unsightly bucket.

Needless to say, I did not end up getting a smoothie from this place.

Apparently they open at 5am. The worker was there at 4:30 and she watched me stand there for 10 minutes, only taking the time to sneer, until I asked and was told that they weren't open. Being a nice person is not a requirement to work at this Smoothie King.

Apparently you all open at "5am" so to speak. 20min after the scheduled opening time, you all finally decide to show up. I'm standing at the register and not being greeted. I had to ask if you all are open? The girl stated she was "setting up" in an irritated tone and I had to give her 10min. A whopping 30min after opening, stellar customer service (bravo). Aside from being late to your shift, you're not even greeting customers. Set your alarm next time.

Seems like you all miss the mark ALOT.

How lazy it is to get off a plane and have a girl serve you in a rude and boring way, she was not able to answer or help me with my questions. Horrible service, hire happier people who value their work
