Incredible food, atmosphere and owner!!

We went here on a whim to grab lunch and we were not disappointed! The Pad Thai was so delicious that I wanted to keep eating it even when I was too full for more. My boyfriend got the Donburi and he left nothing behind in his bowl. The tea was some of the best we've ever had, and we had to stop ourselves from inhaling the entire cup immediately. We will definitely be coming back here often.

My daughter called ahead to make sure Suzie had a table and that we’re welcome. 10 minutes later in a cute and eccentric and eclectic restaurant we were welcomed by Suzie. She is quite the character but so warm, caring and opinionated.

There is an extensive card but she prefers to suggest what you should eat ? so wie did.
It was the best and freshest Korean food I have ever had. We all had the same dish ?

Subpar food, indifferent service, and a table cloth that looked like it hadn't been cleaned in several months - what's not to love?

Good to know Suzie's hasn't changed in 20+ years. When this place was fairly new my family and I went in for dinner. We were the only ones in the restaurant, and there was only one person seemingly running the restaurant. Dinner was good. We paid, left a tip on the table, and left. We were just about to our car when the staff member chased us to the car screaming about how we hadn't left a tip. How dare we not leave a tip for all of their hard work. Keep in mind they left the restaurant unattended that entire time to yell at us on the sidewalk. Good thing the place was empty, I guess.) One of my parents then went in, walked straight back to the table, showed them the tip, and put it right back in their pocket. I remember vividly that family member telling them that their abusive behavior earned them NO tip, a report, and customers that would never return. ... We've never been back.Remember, as a customer, if a situation makes you uncomfortable, please leave! Don't keep yourself in that situation for your own sake just to be polite or nice <3

I came here a few years back and it was one of the poorest experiences I’ve had in a while. To start, I chose this place because I was craving soba noodles and this was one of the few places nearby that offered that. My partner and I went here for a date, but it turned terrible when the owner found out my partner was the same nationality as her but i wasn’t. She proceeded to talk to my partner in her native tongue cussing out my partner for dating someone who wasn’t the same nationality and then said in english “they (my partner) shouldn’t be dating you (me).” I was shocked and my partner was extremely upset. We still ordered food out of courtesy, especially for being the only customers there, but that was another mistake. When I ordered the soba, the owner yelled at me, saying I should be ordering something different that’s more expensive. However, I came here specifically for soba so I told her was going to stick with my choice. She stubbornly left and made the noodles, which were okay (6/10) and my partner ordered a rice dish, which they rated a 5/10.By the end of the meal, my partner and I were going to split the bill, but the owner refused to allow that and said that my partner should treat me. She suddenly called me “docile” and proceeded to use that as a reason for why my partner should pay for the both of us. I don’t understand the rationale behind the payment interaction, nor the word she described me as, but all I know is this restaurant is terrible and it’s not worth the food or price.

We had such a fun dinner at Suzy’s place tonight. The decor is eclectic and artsy, and Suzy made dining an enjoyable experience. She’s sassy, and funny, and she truly cares about spending time with each diner and getting to know them. We’ll be back for the conversation, the atmosphere, and the spicy dishes!

Call ahead to schedule your dinner and have an experience you’ll never forget. Once you get beyond what some perceive as bluntness or rudeness, you’ll discover an independent, loving, creative woman whose passion for life comes through in the dishes served.

I’m still in shock of how we were treated by the owner. We ended up leaving her restaurant when her comments became too absurdly uncomfortable. We should have known better when we walked in with an empty restaurant when other restaurants we passed by were quite packed. How she behaved was not okay and can not be justified by any means. Nobody should be treated like that, despite whether you are a customer. I guess you can try her food if you don’t mind being immersed in rudeness and madness. I won’t go back and I can’t recommend this place to anyone. I highly recommend to stay away from this place, just as the owner suggested to us.
