Took forever to get my food, and when we finally got the food a dish was forgotten about and we had to wait almost another 25 minutes for it to come out. And when we finally got the bill we had to get the price correct 4 times because the prices on the menu and on the receipt were not the same. I finally paid but realized it was still incorrect and had to get a refund in cash. This was the worst service I’ve experience in an extremely long time. The food was good but service was HORRIBLE

I am so disappointed. I waited over an hour for spinach dip…all for them to tell me that they don’t have it. I spoke to the manager and nothing happened. We waited over 2 hours for appetizers. This place isn’t somewhere you want to go to unless you have hours to waste.I wound not recommended this. Do not waste your money or time. Let it go! This is not the prance to be. Two hours isn’t normal for a drink or appetizer. I would never recommend any to come here. Unprofessional and disgusting

I cannot, under any circumstances, recommend this place to anyone. Highly overpriced, fresh from frozen, food; I don't think 'southern inflected' means 'salt heavily and underseason everything'. Understaffed and chaotic front of house. Menu, drinks and food, doesn't match the price point. Ingredients aren't fresh, the mint in my drink was brown and turned into a lovely sewage color when muddled. Free star because they host good jazz groups, but god, you're better off BYOB and food.

If I could give no stars I would have. I visited the civil tonight with my family from out of town. The live band was amazing. Atmosphere was nice everything else not so much. The General Manager Anthony explained to us after waiting 2 hours with no drinks and no food that he was doing the best he could. When asked if we could even have water he told us that he could not do that either. He also told us that if we had a problem with the service we should go elsewhere to enjoy our night. This place would be a very nice place if they had better management and organization. In the end Anthony decided he would be generous and “comp” the bill well Anthony water was free the last time I checked.

The atmosphere was fun, the decor was great but service was very slow I was told it was due to call outs. The drinks were good but the 20% gratuity for parties of 1 or more and needing to tip the bar tender on top of that I think is outrageous. The food was ok but honestly I don't think it was worth the price we paid for it.

The Civil has a great band. It needs to be turned down, though, as it’s so loud it drowns out the singers. All you can hear is a LOUD band, and singers have almost to scream to be heard. The service was horrible. When we were seated, I asked for menus, and our server forgot to bring them TWICE. I ordered one drink and Brussels sprouts. It took our server over 45 minutes. After an hour passed and watching others who arrived after I did receive their food, I just canceled everything—super frustrating dining experience.
I wanted to like this place so much. the atmosphere looks really nice, the chandeliers, huge windows and the mirrors by the bathroom. beautiful. however, I sat at the bar waiting for the rest of my party and was there for 15 minutes before I was acknowledged (it was not busy). once my party arrived we were seated and it took another 15 minutes before someone came to take our drink orders. The music is SO LOUD that it felt as if I had to yell so that I could carry a conversation with my dinner companions. and the poor server, bless her heart, was the only one working the floor and she was new. but she was not warm or professional at all. the food was good though. I got wings and the buffalo chicken dip. be warned, they charge $1 for seasoning/flavor which is not made clear on the menu. other people in my party were charged for things like lettuce and tomato which were included (based on the men). also gratuity (18-20% is added to EVERY check no matter how large or small your party). I won't return.

Terrible customer service. The food is overpriced ($15 for five shrimp!) and servers are unaccommodating. Their door has been damaged with shattered glass for months now. Bottomless mimosas are not actual mimosas: far too sweet and made with liquor instead of the standard champagne.Edit - Since the owner wants to bring up other restaurants: Next Phaze Cafe is just 0.4 miles away. $11.95 for EIGHT (8) jumbo shrimp and fries. Seasoned to perfection. Black owned business with friendly service. I highly recommend them over this place.

Friday-Music and atmosphere was great! Service was horrible! 40 minutes to get water, 2 hours to get drinks and food. Management was not knowledgeable or honest about food and drink arrival, not capable of managing staff during crowded moments. Black owned business catering to other ethnicity groups first disregarding black patrons already there. When questioned Management became angry and unprofessional.
Parking: Parking was good.

Lovely atmosphere. Not too much of an adult crowd of 40 and over more of 21 to 30ish crowd. The band was awesome and drinks were delicious! Food not so good, some coaching in kitchen definitely needed when it comes to other foods on menu other then burgers, chicken wings and fries your basic. I had jerk lamb chops! Horrible! Lamb chops was tough, and it was like someone took jerk paste and rubbed on lamb chops with a serving spoon not eatable at all! Play it safe and order burger or wings. Really nice place though n folks was nice.
