True Chesapeake

This was our first outing at True Chesapeake. The experience was wonderful from how we were greeted, to my Birthday card, the excellent food, and wonderful service staff members. The drinks were perfectly mixed and the oysters were outstanding. I have already recommended the restaurant to many of my friends and will definitely be returning soon. It was delicious and the servers were knowledgeable about the food and very nice! We had two varieties of oysters, the steak tartare was so good we ordered a second round!

The restaurant is beautiful. Food was impeccable, the service was very kind and prompt without being intrusive. My daughter who works with me at Sotto Sopra requested this restaurant for her 16th birthday celebration because she loves oysters every which way . My boyfriend and I came here for the New Year's brunch buffet and it was absolutely fantastic. Sheri was an amazing and attentive bartender, and Camille took such great care of us as well. Their service really made the experience feel special. The buffet itself was so yummy – I filled up on the crab mac, brisket, and waffles, but honestly everything looked incredible. The overall vibe was relaxed and comfortable, which made it the perfect place to kick off the new year. We truly had an amazing New Year's brunch and can't wait for the next brunch buffet. Worth every penny for sure.

What a gem! Great venue and menu sourcing from Maryland’s farms and coast. Phil was fantastic accommodating our large group before Thanksgiving, including some late changes to headcount. Owner Pat also spent a generous amount of time at our table talking through the menu and some of his favorite suppliers. We’ll be back!

Brunch at True Chesapeake was such a great experience. The grilled oysters were easily one of the highlights and everything else we tried kept that same level of quality. The flavors were thoughtful and the pacing of the meal felt perfect. I also loved the atmosphere. There is something about that Falls Road location that just makes you feel relaxed the moment you walk in. The staff was kind and welcoming and the whole visit flowed beautifully. It was truly delicious from start to finish.

The restaurant feels like a true hidden gem of the beaten path. But, once you're inside it feels like a local restaurant you've been going to for years, even if it's your first time. The atmosphere is flawless as is the service. The prices are very reasonable and the cocktails will keep you warm inside and out. We had oysters, the mushroom tart, the scallops with pork belly, the cauliflower and the reverse apple pie. Everything was impeccable aside from the apple pie being a bit underwhelming, but not bad. I'd recommend this place to anyone and look forward to coming back again.

It was our first time dining at True Chesapeake. The atmosphere is electric, such a fun place to hang out. My Vesper Martini, on point. The food was out of this world. My husband had crab dip with bone marrow. The taste was something I can't describe. Just get it! You will not be disappointed. I had Oysters Rockefeller. I made a great choice. The oyster were delicious, so plump, juicy. It's going to be hard for me to choose something else when we go back! Our servers name was Max. His recommendations were terrific. He knew the menu like the back of his hand. His service was stellar. I cannot enough good things about this restaurant!

We were first time diners at True Chesapeake and stopped in to enjoy some oysters.

We made a reservation and were sat quickly. Our server Luiz was attentive and friendly. We had a sampling of MD oysters, french onion baked oysters, oyster Caesar with crabcake, and the scallops. Everything was delicious and fresh.

For dessert we order the peanut butter marshmallow pot and the inside out apple pie.

Great date night spot, and perfect oyster season meal!
