Stopped in late night for live music and some drinks. Service at the bar was pretty awful, not busy at all but still took a long time to get a drink. Bartenders give the vibe if they don't know you or you don't look a certain way you are not prioritized.

My favorite restaurant in Baltimore! Had an amazing happy hour at the bar with $2 raw and roasted oysters. They also have brunch with live music on the weekend. Will be back soon!

We had oysters three different ways, all were outstanding. The fried oysters were amazing. My husband had the catfish entree, innovative preparation, he liked it. They have a good selection of beers and bourbons. The space is beautiful. Our servers were very good and offered good suggestions. We will be back.

The green salad, generally nothing to write about, is the best salad I have ever had. The hand-cut spaghetti with clams is delicious. My wife had the special blue catfish sandwich and raved about it. The food at True Chesapeake is the best!

Went during happy hour.Seems like a popular spot as the bar area was full. They do have shared table tops, which is where we sat. PLEASE PEOPLE STOP SKIPPING A SEAT. Let everyone fit in.Had the Roasted Oysters...DELICIOUS!!! Along with brussel sprouts. The daiquiri was very tasty as well.Bill included a "kitchen appreciation fee" I have never saw that before. This was in addition to the 20% tip we left.Overall I will definitely visit again

Went for Happy Hour, but we were saddened instead... The water was prompt, and then it all went downhill. No one greeted my wife and I for 15 plus minutes. Other tables seated after us were acknowledged, and their orders were taken before anyone spoke to us. When we were finally greeted and our order was taken, we were promised bread that never came. The oysters we had were lack luster and bland. We were looking for more salty flavor Oysters, but those were not included in the happy hour specials. I will admit that we were given a few different excuses from a few different staff as to the long wait, rush of tables at once, and being short staffed, to name a few. But the restaurant was 3/4 empty and only the bar was full. You've been warned.

Stopped by to check this place out. The managing partner Patrick Hudson showed us a variety of beers, both non alcoholic snd alcohol, and treated us with amazing customer service. I am definitely coming back with friends and family.

True Chesapeake offers delicious and innovative seafood dishes with the freshest ingredients. Their menu is creative and gourmet, yet the atmosphere is fun, lively and down-to-earth. It's one of our favorite restaurants in the area, especially for raw oysters. The oyster stew and scallop crudo were interesting culinary surprises. Every dish is made with unique ingredients creating original variations for mouthwatering flavor combinations. Well done!

I can’t believe I haven’t been here before today. We were a huge fan of Wit & Wisdom and Chef Mills has done it again. The cuisine at True Chesapeake is beyond reproach. We started off with the mushroom tart and the bone marrow crab dip. The puff pastry was perfectly executed and the crab flavor was not lost in the bone marrow. We then moved on to the spaghetti and French onion oysters. The effort put into the spaghetti dish did not go unnoticed. My husband thought the oysters were the most flavorful dish of the whole evening. Of course we opted for dessert. The reverse apple pie with brown sugar and bourbon ice cream is a dessert not to be missed. It was light and not overly sweet. Our bartender makes a mean Sazerac. We will definitely be back!

Very nice menu. Well suited to trying lots of dishes and sharing. If you like oysters, plenty for you here, both raw and cooked. Was our first time here (wife and myself), glad we went, nice change of pace and would love to go back to try more. Prices are pretty reasonable actually.

Excellent food, if a bit on the salty side, but I'd say that's owed to the whole Chesapeake aesthetic. The signature cocktails are complex and varied; there's something for any preferred spirit. We particularly enjoyed the delicate and savory Scallop Crudo, the tender and robust Duck Confit, and the rich and rustic mushroom tarte. True Chesapeake excels at textural delights, as well as flavorful ones. The oysters were especially tasty with the cranberry mignonette. We're looking forward to going back.

The waiter and bartenders were very personable and attentive. Loved the ambiance and vibe! The oyster Rockefeller was pretty tasty....but needed a little salt. The crab dip bone marrow was our least favorite dish. It lacked crab meat and the portion was rather small for the price. Our entrees were very good......although my steak wasn't initially over cooked. However they quickly replaced it and brought me a perfectly cook steak. We will definitely return to this spot.

Love True Chesapeake! The oysters are ALWAYS phenomenal, and I love the drinks! It was Valentine's Day so service was a little slow, but completely understandable. Bar service was the slowest — they definitely needed more than one person at the bar. Regardless, I will be back. Best date night spot by far! I just wish they did happy hour in the dining room as well.

We had an excellent first visit here. The cocktails were great and the food was top-notch. Excellent oysters from the raw bar with creative sauces for them. Then we had oysters Rockefeller, which was also excellent. I can highly recommend the crab mac & cheese and the crab eggs Benedict. And the chips that are served with the steak tartar are the crunchiest chips we ever had. We highly recommend this place
