In town from NJ and at the hotel next door, so decided to try this place. Meatball hero was phenomenal, and the arancini was great too. Definitely a must try. I’m going to be sad when I go back home, but have a feeling I’ll be back here a couple more times before I leave.

High quality Italian deli, with great sandwiches, salads, and pizzas, plus lots of tasty and sometimes exotic accomplishments. They also have a fabulous, well-curated wine, beer, and soda/NA selections. Avoid the plane ticket to Italy and visit Zavino.
I initially thought this was a wine shop. From the outside, it seems like retail and not a restaurant. Then I saw the oven and smelled some delicious food!
I am big fan of ZaVinos and their customer service. I usually order take out for the office and its always hot and ready when I go to pick it up. I went here based on a co-workers recommendation on the sandwiches. I've tried two sandwiches but wasn't over the moon. The pizza, however is where it's at for me!! They make an amazing pie. Co-workers have said great things about the salad specifically the peach and burrata salad. What prompted me to write this review was the FRIED GREEN TOMOATOES - Baby, if I could eat that over and over and over again. I WOULD!

So this is a well made pizza. I would say a 7 or 8 out of ten. What’s not so hot is their customer service that I would generously describe as “indifferent.” They are not served well by their ordering app of choice (TOAST) that messed up our order.

We were looking for a convenient date night spot near my girlfriend’s house, so I googled “good pizza near me” and came across ZaVino Italian Marketplace — and I’m so glad we did. The pizza was absolutely incredible and tasted super fresh. They also had a great selection of beer and wine at really reasonable prices, which made the experience even better. I was excited to see one of my favorite beers, Narragansett, on the menu.
We ordered the Caesar salad along with a white pizza that was half classic white and half pepperoni, and everything was fantastic. The flavors were fresh, authentic, and perfectly done. The atmosphere made for such an easy, relaxing date night, and the service was great too. This is definitely going to become one of our new favorite local spots near the house!

4 stars for the quality of the deli. Really nice meats and cheeses as well as prepared foods. I was a tiny bit grossed out by the deli using dirty gloves to slice meats and handing me a package of salami covered in the sauce from the prior item they were handling, but I can easily fix that back at home. Overall I will be back.

The best Italian sub in Baltimore these days, and I’ve had all the usual suspects.
Update: Came back a week later to try the pizza, and was not disappointed.

Looks like they got shrinkflated. When it was new they had some of the best sandwiches I've ever had, now they are just pretty good. They've replaced the really good Italian sesame bread with plain cheap tasting loafs. The jus that comes with the Italian beef used to be super flavorful and is now pretty bland. Pretty sure the beef is drier now too.

Zavino provides great food (especially the Calabrian hot chicken sub, Hail Caesar, and POLPETTINE pizza! *Kyle Van Noy should’ve tried that one) but also a good relaxing, fresh, and open environment in the marketplace all behind the leadership and personality of owner Gino. Every time I’m in the Cross Keys area, it’s a must!
*the fresh Italian marinara sauce is a solid gift for your dad who likes to cook

The pizza and selection of wine/beer is an absolute 10/10. Plus the staff were very polite and friendly.
I wish there was a ZaVino Market located in my hometown

My visit there was uncomfortable and disturbing. The good part was that the wine guy was great and there was a wide selection of authentic products. Now for the bad. No one greeted me when I came in, but the woman working there stated me down. It was uncomfortable. I asked if there were baskets for shopping, and she begrudgingly told me they were in the corner near the door. When checking out, I joked that finding this place was going to be a “problem” for me because there were so many authentic products. I said That I’d lived in Tuscany for about 7 years and had trouble finding authentic products and flavors. She looked at me funny, so I repeated myself. That’s when she said, “You said Tuscany so I thought you were talking about the apartments.” I guess she thought a Black woman couldn’t have possibly been talking about Italy, even though we were talking about FOOD in an ITALIAN market. Purposely racist or blissfully ignorant? Who knows? Inappropriate, no doubt.

I didn't want to write a review after my first great experience. I've now been there five occasions and each time had amazing food and service. The sandwiches are what I've been trying. Chicago beef, chicken parm, hail caesar, etc. Every one that I have tried has been incredible.
The sandwiches are huge. Steak sandwiches are filled with steak. Italian sandwiches are filled with cold cuts. The value is there and the flavor delivers.
Can't wait to come back and work my way through the rest of the menu.
