I’ve been here maybe 75 times in my life, no joke, and each and every time it has been a treat to go to La Tolteca. The staff, like Mr. Raul and Mrs. Rosy, and so kind and attentive, and they even know us now as regulars. The living plants that span dozens of feet across the ceiling and the curved glass windows that span from the floor to the roof add a good vibe to the atmosphere of the restaurant. The tables and booths have just been redone, we noticed, so they’re super comfy and up to date. And of course the food is good, otherwise I wouldn’t be writing this review! One minor thing is that the bathrooms could use an upgrade. They don’t get very warm in the winter and they’re not very comfortable. Otherwise, I love La Tolteca.

Consistently yummy! I always get Pollo Loco and live the chips and cream salsa. Shrimp fajitas are a family fav as are the fired chicken chimichanga. Thanks La Tolteca!

Found a fly at the bottom of my drink. When asked to get it taken off the menu, the waitress gave me attitude then didn’t even take it off. Went to the front to pay and asked to get it taken off because there was a fly, and was asked if I had drank it, and if I did then they could not take it off the bill. Luckily I did not drink it (because there was a fly in it) so I got it waived, but they definitely should have been more apologetic, since the drink came to me with a fly already in it. Will definitely not be returning.

Service was excellent. Delicious food and a lot of it for the price.

Portions are much smaller but more expensive. Ask the price of your beverage if you are frugal. My skinny margarita (because the lime was freshly squeezed) was $15.99. I was floored.

Simply average every time. The food is ok. Nothing amazing, nothing terrible. I always order the fajitas while my family typically orders tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. The table side guacamole is very good. The alcoholic drinks are expensive for how weak they are. If you are there around closing, you will feel rushed as they clean up and try to get you out of there so they can leave at closing time.

Sad. My family and I are regulars at this location but after our experience today we won’t be returning. The Manager, Raul followed us outside asking for more of a tip.(We tipped $8) on an average size bill… told us $8 wasn’t acceptable. The food was great. So sad because it was our favorite restaurant.

We go here whenever we have an urge for good Mexican food. Highly recommend!

Excellent service and atmosphere, however, smaller portions than usual.

I tried the chimichanga platter with 4 proteins, instead of my usual fajitas. The tomato sauce was outstanding- it is succulent, hint of salt, spices poured over the deep fried stuffed corn tortillas. The flavor is so good I need more! ? No blubbery chicken. Quality product ?

Ordered a take out burrito for lunch. I didn't receive a burrito, I received a pile of slop in a take out container. Inside the container there was a tortilla with meat, but everything that should have been IN the burrito was piled on top. And since the tortilla was slathered in refried beans, sour cream, and guacamole it was completely soggy. Threw everything away because it seriously looked like they had scraped a bunch of leftovers into a take out container.

I've been here about three times, but 2 were about 15 years ago. Went back recently May.29.23. La Tolteca is, in a word, solid. Food: It's always been tasty. And I love that you get the chips and salsa/queso at the table. I've never had a food 'miss' here. I ordered three soft tacos and flan (great desert, try if you haven't and you like sweet jello/pudding-like things) this time and they were good, as were the prices . My friend got chicken nachos which were also good and a nice big portion. Service: The lady who seated us and took our order also served us, and she did everything quickly and seemed very sweet and personable. She checked on us several times. Great service. Ambiance: Comfortable. Love the decor. I like that you can get merch from them and the style is colourful and happy. There was light music playing and we had a window booth but there were various areas of the restaurant where I think we could have asked to sit for different lighting conditions. The only thing I'd like to see is something a little more distinct or special on the menu. But it might be that I missed it, so next time I go, I will see if I can't find it.
