This company's van driver almost hit our family car on 95 south. Then the driver swerved around us and drove on the shoulder while looking at their phone. No wedding or event is worth risking other people's lives over.
Love their food!!! So delicious

I wasn’t able to continue with my 60th Birthday party planning bc of a family emergency. I paid $3000 upfront and let them know in ample time that I would have to cancel and offered them to keep the $1000 deposit. They wouldn’t refund any of my money and treated me with total disrespect. Who can afford to give away $3000… they never offered me to do something at a later date and blamed me for their staff not getting paid for my cancelled party, smh…

Was married 9/4 at Knollview House. Pre planning was very attentive and care was taken to ensure our day was everything we wanted. Cassie was excellent to work with and changed details when needed. This however fell incredibly short on the day of. Our coordinator was absent and inattentive. We spent much of our day having to manage vendors and figure out where we were meant to be. When we raised this issue to management we never received any followup.
Catering by Uptown was our caterer/vendor for a wedding at the Torpedo Factory Art Center. The had an hour and a half to set up all the furniture for the ceremony and reception and the mobile kitchen. They pulled it all off seamlessly! I had two day-of coordinators to help orchestrate the day and they both were so sweet and thoughtful. Ya-Maila was detailed and quick on her feet, and the kitchen manager (didn't catch her name) was so kind and thoughtful.They went above and beyond to make our special day run so smoothly, it was really magical thanks to them!
Exceeeded my expectations. More than what I had anticipated. Highly recommend Catering by Uptown.

The knollview houseI don’t know where to even start! We had plans on getting married at the bayfront we really like the view everything was beautiful but things happen Covid jobs life ect. Ann if you get the chance to meet her she is simple amazing she keep me calm we found another way to make our wedding still happen (anniversary twins now) she always worked with me and was always there when needed even though it was her wedding anniversary she still checked in on me the day of which really means a lot! Then I got the chance to meet Esther one of the most nicest person We had the pleasure of meet as well very laid back very good energy to be around and I appreciate her showing me the knollview house and we FELL IN LOVE. Tracy was our point of contact up to the wedding and I know I definitely over did the questions and emails but she was there for me and my now husband on every single question we had she made sure we understood And got back to us right away! Lastly my day of coordinator <3 Helen thank you I think I spoke with you for a short period of time the day before and I was worried i needed everything to be perfect and when I say everything was done exactly how I wanted there wasn’t ONE thing she forgot she made sure I was ok she checked on us throughout the night she made sure I was personally ok I saw her enjoying herself and I have pictures of her in the background smiling from ear to ear just to see us happy enjoying moments that she knew were important to us. I really hope each and everyone of you know how special you all are and how thankful We are for catering by uptown. Sorry for the lengthy review but I had to give individual thanks!

From the start of our wedding venue search, Kat Hozik with Catering by Uptown was helpful and responsive via phone and email when it came to scheduling tours of their available waterfront venues. Tracy Brooks helped us feel well-informed with wedding packages and differences between Catering by Uptown venues. Their effective communication helped us select the venue that would best satisfy our needs, which was Anchor Inn. Being COVID times, Anchor Inn was a blend of both indoors and outdoors with a covered deck area (where we had our ceremony) accommodating for both rain or shine.Soon after deciding on Anchor Inn, we quickly received our contract that would allow us to reserve our date and a preferred vendors list that helped us craft our awesome vendor team. Since Catering by Uptown is responsible for both the venue and catering, our planning and coordination was made simple. We thoroughly enjoyed our sampling session where we were able to select our hor d'oeuvres, main courses, and cake. You get a box full of several small cake slices to take with you and sample. The food on our wedding day exceeded our expectations. Every guest we spoke to after the event was impressed with the food. They were also able to accommodate a cultural dish that was not on their menu and made it one of their standing appetizers.During our sample session, we also selected the linens and table setting style from a huge collection. With all the available options, we created a neutral, warm table scape that spoke to us and fit our style. Lastly, we were provided an Event Supervisor (shoutout to Stephanie) who assisted the day-of with organizing the vendors, ushering/cueing bridal party members for important events, and being our point of contact for planning and coordination during the wedding. One less thing to worry about! Overall, you are paying for an excellent service, and we felt like our day went flawlessly thanks to the hard work of Catering by Uptown’s staff.
MS. VERONICA!!!!!!! YA MAILA!!! What an amazing ppl! MS Veronica was my day of coordinator at the Anchor Inn location for my wedding on 5/22/2022. She was soo amazing it is a month later and I still want to recognize her, Ya Maila and the team that worked the night of my wedding. The planner Ya Maila that took over planning for us from a former employee truly listened to our wants and needs. She allowed us to arrive a little early so our hired day of Coordinator could unload the wedding decor. She was honestly better than the original planner we were assigned with her attention to detail and warm energy. Ya Maila and Ms Veronica both went out of their way to make adjustments, have great professionalism and prompt communication before and during the wedding. We also hired an outside day of coordinator, but honestly Ms Veronica, was better than them! She checked on my husband and I regularly at our sweetheart table when my hired coordinator should have been. She had our requested drinks and the appetizers we missed during cocktail hour, while taking pictures, ready for us too!! We didn’t have any cake cutting knives and she even offered to let us borrow her own. Ya Maila wasn’t supposed to be at the wedding and even made it to the wedding for us and was able to surprise us with the ceremony layout we were longing for but didn’t think we would be able to have. Really great job making a huge milestone in our lives one of the best memories ever! The ceremony, cocktail hour AND reception reveals truly exceeded our expectations. Thankful for the entire team and especially Ya Maila and Ms Veronica in particular!! THANK YOU JUST DOESN’T DO IT! Feeling grateful is an understatement! ❤️

Catering by Uptown was the vendor for my wedding on 10/9/21. Due to Covid, we had well under 50 guests. Once the wedding ended, I sent an email to one of the managers expressing my concerns with services. After several days, a manager reached out. She was very friendly and reassuring. She wanted to talk to her team about all that transpired. I received another call later on in which she apologized for the issues in question and asked how could “they” make this right because offering us a dinner or trying to put a dollar amount on things would not suffice. I told her my husband and I would like to think on it and she assured us that another manager or someone would be in contact. After not hearing from anyone, I texted her asking about someone reaching out. Finally, someone did. This person denied everything and put the blame on us. His tone was soo condescending and he kept cutting me off that my husband had to chime in. He then became passive aggressive and said we can take the $500 he’s been authorized to offer us. We asked to speak to the owners. They don’t speak to clients. I posted pics disputing all their lies. They said I arrived late, my decorator was late but timestamps on photos say otherwise. My guests apparently set wherever they wanted hence why they served ppl the wrong meals including citrus to a severely allergic guest. Yes, all this was sent beforehand. The lack of honesty after speaking to two different managers and the disrespect is not worth utilizing this vendor for your special day! I emailed the first manager thanking her for being a fresh of breath air despite all of this and no response.
