We hired Catering by Uptown for our wedding at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria, VA, and we couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out! The team was so easy to work with and made the entire process smooth from start to finish.
Even though our venue doesn’t have a kitchen, the Catering by Uptown crew did an amazing job keeping the food warm and serving each course right on time. Everything came out delicious and perfectly paced! Veronica, Marcie, and the drinks manager were all wonderful — friendly, professional, and great communicators with our wedding planner.
We were really impressed and would definitely recommend Catering by Uptown for anyone planning an event at the Torpedo Factory or anywhere else in the area!

Booked the Bayfront Club as our wedding venue since we wanted a waterfront ceremony with a gorgeous view. Love that it’s a family run business. the owner Ray and his son Joseph were fantastic- I toured most of their venues with them. They were super accommodating and attentive to any concerns I had as a bride. Our account manager Marcie was wonderful, taking detailed notes on everything (we communicated with her up until 2 weeks out from the date) and responding to my million and one questions, with a quick response time via email or call. Since we did a grand arrival by private charter, they even let us do a dry run ahead to practice docking and were super patient in waiting for us. 2 weeks out we were assigned our catering manager for the day of- Veronica is the best!! Responsive to texts and emails at any time of day (and unlike most venues where the catering manager is only concerned with ensuring the venue fulfills their contractual obligations), she and her staff showed up, worked with our day of coordinator, and played a huge role in ensuring the day went as flawlessly as it did! The day of, Veronica arrived at the venue early in case any of the production crew arrived early. She checked on us throughout the night, and you could tell she genuinely was excited for us and loves what she does! They truly went above and beyond. Couldn’t have asked for a better team. Brides if you’re heavily involved in planning the details of your wedding and looking for a hassle free experience, highly recommend booking one of CBU’s venues. One of the best wedding decisions I’ve made.

My husband and I were recently married at the Tented Vista Celebrations At The Bay, and it was truly the wedding of my dreams. I've always imagined getting married by the water, and Celebrations at the Bay and Catering By Uptown made that vision even more incredible than I could have ever hoped.
Aimee, our Catering Supervisor, was phenomenal. From the moment I dropped off our décor, any stress I had completely melted away. She was attentive, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful—ensuring that everything ran flawlessly. Thanks to her, the day was seamless, and our guests are still raving that it was the best wedding they’ve ever attended!
My husband and I were well taken care of, always offered drinks, provided with a plate of hors d’oeuvre to make sure we got a chance to enjoy them, and having the timeline run perfectly!!

I wasn’t able to continue with my 60th Birthday party planning bc of a family emergency. I paid $3000 upfront and let them know in ample time that I would have to cancel and offered them to keep the $1000 deposit. They wouldn’t refund any of my money and treated me with total disrespect. Who can afford to give away $3000… they never offered me to do something at a later date and blamed me for their staff not getting paid for my cancelled party, smh…

Was married 9/4 at Knollview House. Pre planning was very attentive and care was taken to ensure our day was everything we wanted. Cassie was excellent to work with and changed details when needed. This however fell incredibly short on the day of. Our coordinator was absent and inattentive. We spent much of our day having to manage vendors and figure out where we were meant to be. When we raised this issue to management we never received any followup.
Catering by Uptown was our caterer/vendor for a wedding at the Torpedo Factory Art Center. The had an hour and a half to set up all the furniture for the ceremony and reception and the mobile kitchen. They pulled it all off seamlessly! I had two day-of coordinators to help orchestrate the day and they both were so sweet and thoughtful. Ya-Maila was detailed and quick on her feet, and the kitchen manager (didn't catch her name) was so kind and thoughtful.They went above and beyond to make our special day run so smoothly, it was really magical thanks to them!

The knollview houseI don’t know where to even start! We had plans on getting married at the bayfront we really like the view everything was beautiful but things happen Covid jobs life ect. Ann if you get the chance to meet her she is simple amazing she keep me calm we found another way to make our wedding still happen (anniversary twins now) she always worked with me and was always there when needed even though it was her wedding anniversary she still checked in on me the day of which really means a lot! Then I got the chance to meet Esther one of the most nicest person We had the pleasure of meet as well very laid back very good energy to be around and I appreciate her showing me the knollview house and we FELL IN LOVE. Tracy was our point of contact up to the wedding and I know I definitely over did the questions and emails but she was there for me and my now husband on every single question we had she made sure we understood And got back to us right away! Lastly my day of coordinator <3 Helen thank you I think I spoke with you for a short period of time the day before and I was worried i needed everything to be perfect and when I say everything was done exactly how I wanted there wasn’t ONE thing she forgot she made sure I was ok she checked on us throughout the night she made sure I was personally ok I saw her enjoying herself and I have pictures of her in the background smiling from ear to ear just to see us happy enjoying moments that she knew were important to us.
