If you're a whiskey nerd or love distillery specialty cocktails this is definitely a place to check out. Their whiskey is young but they are putting out some amazing distillate and taking it to great places with finishes and grains local to Maryland. I especially loved their port finished rye, rum finished rye, and Maryland style rye made with Maryland grains. For cocktails I loved their "margarita" which was made with their rye that was aged two days in Chardonnay...
We had an excellent tour and tasting with Arthur! His love and passion for the craft is evident at every turn. We were very impressed with the tasting room selection from this small distillery and ended up purchasing a bottle of Cobalt and Bourbon. I highly recommend you go and try the Shmidt Spirits experience.
Did the tour and tastings today with an additional cocktail afterwards. Was a great experience. Very good product and friendly staff. We enjoyed and took a bottle home to enjoy watching the game. Definitely a hidden gem and we'll be back.
