Assateague Crab House Reviews
went there on May 2,2026 and was very disappointed. The all you can eat crabs were so small not even worth picking. The fried chicken was not good. others on my party purchased crabs cakes which were mushy and need old bay. The flounder also mushy the comment made was this taste like it was frozen then cooked. Shrimp was very small. The only good thing was the great waitress and service we received.
very disappointed. when for anniversary and food not good at all. very bland, no taste and the only thing that was hot were the potatoes. Even the ketchup, tartar sauce and cocktail sauce were tasteless.
I been wanting to come for a while but either came when closed /season but wow great 😊 good food and very friendly staff if you never been go .. won’t disappoint well worth it

Assateague Crab House is a popular spot for seafood lovers, offering a warm and cozy atmosphere that feels like a seaside eatery. The staff are friendly and attentive, making guests feel at home. The restaurant is best known for its crab dishes, including steamed crabs and crab cakes with generous portions of high-quality crab meat and a perfect blend of spices. Guests also enjoy the all-you-can-eat crab legs, which are a favorite. For those who do not prefer crab, there are hand-patted burgers, fried chicken, seafood platters, and a variety of drinks including Assateague IPA on tap. The food is honest and good, with many dishes cooked to perfection, like the snow crab legs, steamed shrimp, and steamed clams in the Dinner for Two meal. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, with outdoor areas being dog-friendly, making it a great spot for visitors to Assateague State Park. The friendly service is appreciated, and guests often find the bathrooms clean. Many visitors mention that the food is good value, especially the seafood platter with corn and hush puppies. The restaurant also offers a full-service bar and a wide selection of drinks. Recently, guests praised the excellent service, even during power outages, and noted that everything was delicious and cooked just right. The staff explained how to extricate the meat from the crab body, which was laborious but worthwhile. It remains a beloved local restaurant, with many planning to return for its casual and comfortable dining experience.
