We visited Aug 4 2025. We were told it would be a40 min wait for a table. Turned out to be 90 min. Once inside found out you can call ahead for seating. We will definitely do that next time. Patrick and his staff were amazing with what they were dealt with. We had a large party come in tonight and the power went out. The staff handled it like pros and took care of each and everyone one of us. We will be back to support this local restaurant in the future.

Assateague Crab House is a popular spot for seafood lovers, offering a warm and cozy atmosphere that feels like a seaside eatery. The staff are friendly and attentive, making guests feel at home. The restaurant is best known for its crab dishes, including steamed crabs and crab cakes with generous portions of high-quality crab meat and a perfect blend of spices. Guests also enjoy the all-you-can-eat crab legs, which are a favorite. For those who do not prefer crab, there are hand-patted burgers, fried chicken, seafood platters, and a variety of drinks including Assateague IPA on tap. The food is honest and good, with many dishes cooked to perfection, like the snow crab legs, steamed shrimp, and steamed clams in the Dinner for Two meal. The restaurant has indoor and outdoor seating, with outdoor areas being dog-friendly, making it a great spot for visitors to Assateague State Park. The friendly service is appreciated, and guests often find the bathrooms clean. Many visitors mention that the food is good value, especially the seafood platter with corn and hush puppies. The restaurant also offers a full-service bar and a wide selection of drinks. Recently, guests praised the excellent service, even during power outages, and noted that everything was delicious and cooked just right. The staff explained how to extricate the meat from the crab body, which was laborious but worthwhile. It remains a beloved local restaurant, with many planning to return for its casual and comfortable dining experience.
