I don’t even live in Maryland anymore but I’ve been eating at Tako Grill across multiple incarnations and locations since I was young, and the quality of the food has never disappointed. I love that in the space they’re in now, I can get specialty treats and BYO (or to-go!) sake to go with my rolls. A real gem of Bethesda.

The food tastes really good. The quality of sushi is better than any other places you find in other areas. The place is very clean too. We ordered a few rolls, soba, and katsudonburi which we find very authentic and good. The vegetables they used in soba seem very fresh too. Recommend!

This is the most overpriced sushi restaurant in the area. 35$ for 7 pieces of sushi and 1 roll? No soup or salad included? Feels like I’m being taken advantage of - for them to say on the website they are affordable? One of the worst values in the area. Won’t be back even though the food tastes fine.
Food takes forever to come out. The sushi quality wasn't bad. But looks like it's run by an older Asian couple. The wife does the serving and the husband is the only sushi man. They prob only have one guy making kitchen food in the back bc our food took 40 mins to come out. Price was also unreasonable for the amount. Wasn't bad but deff wasn't great

I absolutely love this place. The sushi is fantastic. I’ve tried a variety of foods from the menu here and every time I’ve been satisfied. The people here are so genuinely kind. The customer service is always amazing whether I order to go or eat inside. I love the “grocery” section that they have. It’s an added perk. I can grab a nice prepared meal and some good seasonings and things for home. The food is worth the price every time.

Fresh and delicious. Just walked in and was very pleasantly surprised. Recommended.
GREAT FOOD - BUT, BAD VALUE
I ordered the Shrimp Tempura Bento Box - it came with what looked like 6 beautiful Shrimp Tempura. They all really looked like shrimp- but 2 turned out to be fried carrots and 1 was a fried zucchini - I wish I had taken a picture to share with you ! 3 shrimp for $25 and not much else - not even miso soup!

I stopped here at lunchtime as I was starving and the menu had a great selection of sushi rolls. I ordered for takeout a spicy yellowtail roll which I was told had masago on it… what I got was a pathetic tiny roll that may have had a speck of tamago, maybe a few lame cucumber pieces in it and tiny bits of tuna… very disappointed in their sushi thus far…
The restaurant also had a retail section which was astronomically priced compared to Lotte or H-Mart. I get it, overhead I’m sure in Bethesda is high but my experience was much less than I expected from this place!!

Fish quality was good but pieces were cut way too big (Both the roll and sashimi).

Excellent food. I’ve followed this restaurant from its old Wisconsin Ave. location. It’s really enjoyable to eat here. And there’s parking.

DELICIOUS. The sushi was fantastic and fresh. Miso soup was great. Service was wonderful! Surprised it took us so long to find this hidden gem. Will definitely be back.

The service was attentive and polite. But we were very disappointed with our rather expensive Japanese dishes. 4 of us ordered meals, rather than sushi or sashimi and perhaps Tako Grill is best for its fresh fish. In particular the teriyaki was below average. For 2 people, each of whom had one drink the bill was $150. More than I’d expect to pay for the ambiance and quality.

The service was awful; the sushi was luke warm and took forever; the place is minimal. A far cry from the old Tako Grill. Too bad.

High quality food, service, and setting. Highly recommend the toro, maguro, and chicken teriyaki don bowl.I also really appreciate that the water cup is a full sized 24oz cup.To top it all off, some miso soup to conclude lunch rounded out an excellent experience. Grateful I stopped by and will come back several more times!
