PLANTA Bethesda Reviews
I'm only recommending Planta (Planta Bethesda) because it is a fully plant-based restaurant. That is always a bonus for vegans and those who eat a plant-based diet. In the past, I had many, many other positives to share about this restaurant. But my most recent visit (last week) was disappointing. I was hoping for chick'n and waffles, which I have had in the past (and felt was a restaurant staple, like something they were known for offering). Not so it seems. The new menu change...read full review
I have liked Planta when I have gone there and ordered ala carte so when I received their holiday feast information on email, I decided to invite two other people for a holiday feast last night. It definitely looked like that whether you ordered one feast or three, you got the same amount of food served. I landed up having to order pizza after our three "feasts". My wife was double billed approx $90 and the restaurant refuses to remedy this. I will NEVER again eat here and will be happy to tell our vegan friends if it doesn’t end up made right. Please feel free to message me if a manager wants to actually fix the situation.

Based on the reviews, PLANTA Bethesda is a plant-based restaurant offering an entirely vegan menu. The food is described as unbelievably delicious and exceptional, with standout dishes like the chick'n fried mushrooms, rainbow roll, spinach and artichoke dip, hawaiian pizza, bang bang broccoli, spicy tuna roll, and carrot olive oil cake. The sticky toffee pudding is also highlighted. The restaurant has a beautiful ambiance that is slick, modern, cozy, and upscale. Service is amazing, with friendly staff who give great recommendations. However, while fresh ingredients are used, some reviews note the seasoning and flavor could be amped up. Some dishes can leave one feeling underwhelmed, and portions for some plates can seem especially frugal at the price point. Despite this, the service has always been excellent, and the restaurant is reasonably priced. It is considered a top vegan spot in the DMV.
