I had stayed at this hotel 11 yrs ago when in the area and loved it. This visit, I felt the cleanliness of the hotel was lacking. Our room carpet had grotesque stains on it, than one can only imagine what made them! The alarm clock and drape wands were sticky. The higher standard of cleaning that COVID mandates is not being followed at this resort. The wait staff in Michner's Library are poorly trained! Our waiter spilled some beer when serving us and did not bother to clean it off the table. I requested napkins and he returned and placed them in the middle of the spill, which was a trail of puddles across our table. Then when we asked for a glass for a bottled beer, he never brought one. I've worked in food service, so I have a high tolerance for forgetfulness when restaurants are busy, but this was not the case. This was the sheer fact that the employees are poorly trained and not held accountable!! With that said, I would definitely visit this location again! it is a prime location with beautiful views. I just think for the amount of money this hotel charges for a room the service should be top notch.

Unsanitary. Loud. Rude/insulting management DIRTY LINENS UPON ARRIVAL AND MANAGEMENT REFUSED TO CHANGE THEM AND LIED ABOUT IT I got married the weekend we stayed there. Our wedding was off site. My husband spent the night before our wedding at the hotel. After our welcome reception and he got to the suite, he found sand in the bed. He had not yet been in the room except to drop off his belongings. Exhausted he just slept on top of the blanket. The next morning he went to the front desk to inform hotel staff the sheets were not changed between guests. They said they would take care of it. When we returned from our wedding and finally got into bed, the bed has been made, but the sheets were still dirty. We found sand and hair that was not ours in our bed after asking to have the sheets changed. We called down to the front desk and a night time manager came up with a house keeping staff and talked down to my husband and I. She said the hotel's linens were textured and that we weren't used to this high quality. She continued to say this after we showed her the sand, dirt, and hair in our bed. After some time back and forth with her being supercilious to us on our wedding night she finally changed the sheets. She was rude and condescending. Poor customer service (I might add that my husband and I had paid for multiple rooms for multiple nights for our officiant and family). REDDISH BROWN STAINS ALL OVER CARPET Unidentified stains all over our suite's carpet DIRTY DIAPERS THROWN IN HALLWAY BY OTHER GUEST Everytime we walked through our hallway the room next to us threw all their dirty diapers into the hallway and they were there for over 24 hours. BLAND FOOD Meh just meh RASH FROM HOT TUB

Hotel was very nice but my room was not ready upon arrival and front desk staff were rude, Location and scenery were superb. Meeting rooms were good, food improved in meetings. Make sure you check to see if you can check in early before planning trip.

I held an event at this hotel for 30+ women. There were no complaints from anyone about their stay and the events team helped me to create an amazing experience. All of the rooms were clean and had the perfert views; the event space was clean and the food provided was very good. Overall, the hotel is the perfect place for a getaway, an event or vacation. I have been visiting this resort for 15+ years. They never disappoint.

Full disclosure: I’ve stayed here before for work. The hotel has a lot going for it and is in a great location. So I didn’t think twice about booking here for a weekend family getaway, especially given their reasonable (advertised) cancellation policy. The weekend of our planned stay, there was literally a tropical storm. I called to cancel the night before our scheduled arrival, when it became clear the storm wouldn’t spare the Eastern shore. I didn’t think this would be an issue. The hotel’s policy was clear that if you cancel within 24 hour of arrival time, you only lose one night’s rate and are reimbursed the rest. (Here’s the language: [Cancellations made after Sep 19, 2023 11:59 PM (property local time) are subject to a 1 night penalty plus taxes and fees. If you fail to check-in for this reservation, or if you cancel or change this reservation after check-in, you may incur penalty charges at the discretion of the property of up to 100% of the booking value.] ) But the hotel didn’t honor their policy. We called the Hyatt main line (no one was answering at the hotel front desk which is fine, there was a tropical storm coming!). The Hyatt representative acknowledged what the policy said but “refused to cancel” our stay and told us if we didn’t show up (during a tropical storm warning) they’d consider us having “failed to check-in for this reservation” and thus deny any refund. Quite the loophole when only the hotel can decide if someone can cancel their stay. While they offered to reschedule us to a future date for free, they rejected every date we requested or made up some excuse why they’d need to up-charge us for it. After over an hour on the phone, it was clear the person was just giving us the runaround until we gave up, which we ultimately did. We were only staying two nights, and prepared to eat the cost of the first night under the policy, so it’s not really about the money. It’s just frustrating to book somewhere that won’t honor their own policies, especially given the circumstances (literal tropical storm and state of emergency). For that reason, we won’t be returning.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. My room was looking right at the water which was a welcoming site to see in the morning and even when I went to bed at night. I wish is was warmer so I could have been outside more to take in the sunrise but I will be back for those.

The grounds and property are beautiful with nice touches inside and out. The stay was terrible at every stage from sales through housekeeping. We had our wedding at a relatives house nearby and recommended guests stay at the resort among a few other hotels. Approximately 40% of our guests stayed at the Hyatt for 30+ rooms and 70+ nights. Few I talked to had an experience beyond just ok - not enough of a resort of this quality. Several guests had problems at check-in including rooms not available on time and entirely wrong rooms given to large families without anywhere near the necessary number of beds. Little was done to correct these errors. Ultimately, there are few properties of this level around but check St. Michael's or other nearby towns first for better 4 star options. The rooms - our bridal suite bed was unsanitary, sand, hair, and other, when the groom checked in the night before the wedding. This was late night so he told staff the next morning. We returned to the room after the wedding with the bride in her dress. The room had been made up and looked ok. The bed was still in the same condition. Sand, hair and other - in the wedding bed for a second night after they had been told. The night manager came up with another staff member to change the sheets. Her first note before ever looking at the bed was to have me touch the sheets because "our sheets do have a texture." The implication being I just wasn't used to the feel of their sheets. I had to pull back the covers and show her the sand and the hair. The service - when I spoke to managers in the morning they were unaware of any issue. They were quick to tell me that any issue like that is immediate termination for housekeeping. No one in management seems to understand service or accountability. Eventually they comped the stay - 2 out of 3 nights of our wedding weekend were unsanitary - so we received one night free after two public health violations. Some quick rough pictures attached as we didn't trust management to take responsibility after the prior night and the "texture" position. I didn't take pictures the first morning because I expected a Hyatt Resort to address the issue and we'd just move on. I had requested options for services, amenities, special items for the bridal suite on a number of occasions with the person I spoke to not being the right person. There was never any follow up - not a big thing but a indicator of service at a resort of this level. The same went for check-in. I showed up very early for some of the check-ins ( I personally had 5 rooms under my name across a few days) and not surprisingly the rooms weren't ready yet. They took my number and would let me know when rooms were ready. That communication never happened. The rooms were ready when I walked up an hour after standard check-in but no one contacted anyone from my party. Again, not a big thing but continues to show that there are gaps in service for a resort like this. Sales - I spoke with sales about potential room blocks on a few occasions. No one told me that resort facilities were completely booked for more than a year in advance - and this was always the case. The spa staff were the only ones to let it slip when I called because their website seemed to have issues since there were no time slots from Thursday night to check out Monday 3-6 months before the weekend. The food - "I've had communion wafers with more flavor and substance than the biscuits and gravy." - a pastor in attendance. We didn't use much of the on site food but the bar caesar salads were pretty good.

I took a short weekend trip here with my sister. 10/10 would recommend. I’m planning to come back soon with my husband and have recommended a friend and her husband visits as well. There were breathtaking views and the staff was both professional and helpful. I was actually taken aback by the friendliness!

I really enjoyed my stay at the Hyatt Regency Chesapeake Bay Golf Resort, Spa & Marina. The staff were fabulous and friendly and the rooms were clean. The view was really nice from my room. I will definitely visit again.

2nd conference at this hotel . Rooms are awesome , facilities are great .. staff has improved some over last year . The hotel is beautiful and has plenty of amenities like a infinity pool , indoor pool , mini golf , outside fireplace .. BUT... The food provided was subpar.. The foodservice side needs to step up its game , ..appetizers were always cold , food sometimes undercooked or shouldn't have even been placed on the buffet. Otherwise the stay was great , rooms comfortably..tv huge!

Brought our family for a 3 night stay over father's day weekend. One disappointment after another. For $600+/night room looked into parking lot, furnishing were weathered, hotel had a musty smell and wi-fi was beyond poor, kept us from being able to make dinner reservations or order to-go food bc of bad connection. The icing on the top was coming back to a room where the adjoining room was smoking weed for 5+ hours and seemed into our kids sleeping area, which was unbearable. They were not smoking outside or on deck but in their room which went directly into our vents. Called front desk with no resolve and 2 hours later went to front desk and still unwilling to assist or enforce their own rules. We would never recommend this hotel to any family and friends. We ended up leaving resort a day early and it ruined father's day weekend.

I believed I was racially profiled by hotel security. The police were called because head of security noticed I had my legally owned firearm under my shirt which I hold a valid CCW permit for. They detained me In front of my peers, business partners and future business partners only to release me after realizing I had a valid CCW permit. This could have been handled in a completely different way. I believe if I was of a different race I would have been treated with a little respect and not been totally embarrassed. Maybe pulled off to the side and talked to?? I then spoke to the security after they realized they were wrong and his explanation was they had a huge drug problem in the area of Cambridge mainly fentanyl I was there for a work conference and don’t reside anywhere close to that area!!! There is definitely a way to handle these situations but he jumped to conclusions and violated my rights as an American Citizen. I would be very careful visiting this resort if you’re not Caucasian. There’s a great opportunity to be racially profiled

We were engaged and married here, but they failed to enable a relaxing 15th Wedding Anniversary getaway. Flies in the market pastry case, long walks to get food and beverages for the pool, pools opening late and closing early, failure to greet guests/offer bell service or a cart for luggage, and generally poor grounds and exterior building maintenance. The room was nice and recently renovated with a comfortable bed. The water view balcony had a great view, but suffered noisy guests below. The regatta pavilion was rusted with holes in the walls. Sadly, the value proposition doesn’t add up and we will redo our anniversary at a different place.

The facilities were very tired. Lots of peeling paint. The restaurant experience was terrible. Universally the staff were very poorly trained. Food quality was poor. Very limited wine list. Only positive was that rooms were clean and quiet.
