Across the street from the courthouse and Harriet Tubman statue is this really nice looking late 19th century church with boxes of ribbons out front which you can tie your prayers to the fence. Although I didn't go inside, I saw some interesting headstones and other grave markers while walking through the graveyard.
beautiful ?
beautiful historic church with rich history of Dorchester county
Beautiful church. Lots of history. A must see.
Beautiful church
Beautiful and welcoming congregation.
I have visited a number of cathedrals from Notre Dame, and Reims, to lesser churches in Baltimore, Mary Our Queen, and throughout Europe, including a recent visit to a church with a stunning pipe organ in Zurich. Therefore, my expectations from a little church in Cambridge were not high. I was pleasantly surprised by the grandeur of the Christ Episcopal Church. I arrived after services one Sunday, but three parishioners gladly stayed to show me around. They clearly were very proud of the building and the traditions of this church, present in Dorchester Country since the 1600's. As other reviewers have indicated, the stain glass windows were spectacular, with vibrant colors. The wood work and craftsmanship of the interior was impressive. The exterior is filled with intricate architectural details, adorning the graceful tower. All in all, it is worth a visit.
