Great time at The Wellwood today. My wife and I were in town for a one night getaway and everyone we met told us we needed to stop here before leaving town so we made sure to have lunch here. The fried green tomatoes were delicious. I have the Salmon BLT and she had the Shrimp Salad. Both were really large and filling. The fries were the best part, extra fried potato wedges. super crispy on the outside, thick, and soft on the inside. We will return!

Lovely restaurant with some nice dishes but rather heavy handed with the salt in several entrees. Missy saved the day with her lovely demeanor, customer service and overall responsive attitude. Would not recommend the French onion soup if you have high blood pressure.

We visited this past weekend (9/12/2025) surprisingly they were trying out a new price platform. The new options/cost for crabs were amazingly much less than all you can eat former price! Great idea for so many crabs. The corn and hush puppies were awesome. The dinner overall was exceptional. Thanks to our waiter that had the new idea for the crab options. We’ve been eating here for 3 years and have enjoyed each visit from Philadelphia.

That fried chicken dish is lights out. I think ROFO stole your style. The fries that come with it and that cornbread perfect. Also had the oysters rockefeller which were really great. Everything felt very homemade or just local if you will. Need to come back for crabs…
The only complaint is why were there a ton of tables open but you’re telling guests there’s a 45 minute wait but there’s a waitress complaining about not getting more tables at the bar? Sounds like front of house needs a little love on a Saturday afternoon. Back of house had it down though so that’s all that really matters.

I think I went here when I was a child. I had memories of it being an old restaurant. If so, it has changed...for the better! This is my wife and my new happy place to boat to and sit outside, have a beverage, and listen to live music. Food, the past 4 times, has been incredible. If you are in the mood, try the fried chicken....

Anna was absolutely amazing...by far 1 of the best servers we have ever had.We were a large group and she was on top of everything.She is definitely a rockstar...we will always ask for her on every visit.
