I had no idea that the Rod and Reel Restaurant had been demolished. The replacement is a bar and grill called The 1936. The food was good, but I was looking forward to a nice grilled rockfish filet, and my husband was looking forward to crabs. The only rockfish on yhe menu was breaded nuggets as an appetizer.I ended up with a xmchopped steak, mashed potatoes and green beans. It was good but the portion was huge. I would have preferred half portion at half the price!

Closed for the season bit the website for the resort doesn't say that. There are other options but walking a lot with older family makes it difficult. I understand closing after summer but put that on the website and list how far you have to walk to other restaurants. It's a beautiful space. It's just that we're vacationing with family who are much to old to walk long.

We always enjoy ourselves here. We attended a Mother's Day brunch this year. Everyone managed to find something on the menu to enjoy. Highly recommend reservations (we had one) and look forward to visiting again once the parking garage and resort extension are complete.Kid-friendliness: My girls felt spoiled by the attention they were given by the servers. They were even gifted scarves left over from the main brunch experience.Parking: Limited handicap parking when we visited. But it appeared that an expansion was taking place.

The restaurant was demolished recently, and is being rebuilt. We ate at the adjoining outdoor Cafe. The menu us limited BUT, the steamed, and fried shrimp were really good, and the fries were like mama used to make!!! The cream of crab soup was too thick and lacked flavor and crab meat. But all in all,, we were well pleased. Service was great. I love going there.

We have been coming here literally for decades. The staff did a great job, and the dining room has a beautiful view. The food however was less than mediocre. We had several meals there during a stay at the resort, and none of them were very good.

The food took awhile to come to our table. The crab dip had NO lump crabmeat visible in it, but had spinach? The fried fish was very dry. Took over 15 minutes to run my payment card. No valet parking attendant was available upon arrival , we had to park in the parking garage and walk. Made using a cane an experience.

The new layout offers very little dining room seating. It's mostly catering to the casino crowd at the moment. Before there was a huge buffet in the back room. They need to separate the casino from what was a very popular dining destination.

I Made Reservations and got sat down right away but did not see waitress for 25 minutes. Food Entre came 35 minutes later. My 3 Crab ball appetizers was a 1 -1/2 inches and was $25. Rod N Reel Thanks for warning us and setting us up.

Service was extremely slow. While others were getting bread, we waited 40 minutes for our appetizer. Drinks sat empty for a while, steers they were wrong in the first place. The medium steak was well done. The a imperial crab was a little bit of crab with a glob of mayonnaise on top. Fried chicken my son got was tasty but greasy as could be. The manager did, however, take care of it by removing everything down to the amount of the deposit.

This was an amazing seafood brunch spot, I got lunch. It was to celebrate Ms. Pattie (R.I.P. as of late April ?) on April 23, 2023. She will be dearly missed. She loved the beach and seafood especially shrimp.I got the Crab Imperial and the side orders of green beans and mashed potatoes. The side of bread was cool, interesting cheese spread though. I would go again especially if they had more sides and desserts. If the Crab Imperial was twice the size I'd order it to go! Overall, this was a memorable meal for an event to remember ?.

This was my first time going for breakfast. It wasn't that much on the breakfast menu to choose from, and that was disappointing. The waitress didn't follow my instructions on how I wanted my eggs so I didn't like them, and the bacon had a funny taste to it. I really didn't enjoy the breakfast.

Nice close getaway from the city. Everyone was nice and didn't feel like a visitor or tourist. Went to restaurant late so food options were limited. But the food I did get was tasty.
