Came here to celebrate my husband birthday after some recommendation.
.The food was very basic nothing much to stand out, need improvement on creme brûlée wich it was very thick on the taste.
But we do appreciate the good service from the staff and the antique ambience.z
An absolute gem. We had delicious cocktails before being seated and then a truly magnificent meal. Absolutely recommend and will be going back to sample more of the menu.
I was here for a wedding reception, so my experience might be a little different. However, others there had been going to this place for 30 years, so I think it is as good as I experienced. I tried the cheese ravioli appetizer, beef tips and the salmon entrees, and peach melba and the mousse cake for dessert. All were wonderfully done! And inside, the place has a very strong French country feel that I really appreciated.
First time here and my husband and I got to enjoy it for my cousin's wedding. Will definitely visit for a date day.
The souffle is incredible!
Lovely impromptu dinner with friends. Thankful to find ambiance, food and service wonderful as I had remembered it. Will certainly return.

Nice charming French restaurant in the heart of Chevy Chase. Good for a romantic date and for baguettes, souffles, and food overall. French onion soup was good, but I thought it was too pricy. I did not like the pate. Good service and nice ambiance rounds out the experience. However, this place is definitely for those who prefer a older feel to their ambiance, and have a deep pocket.

Real pleasant location and restaurant as well as staff, the food is top notch and you have a choice of two or three courses and they allow time in between to enjoy the company you’re with and definitely recommend for family, romantic or whatever occasion with others!

I would rate my recent experience at La Ferme in negative stars if I could.
My wife and I traveled from New England to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday. She chose La Ferme. I do not know why.
The setting is attractive. Beware numerous steps inside and out which can challenge elderly walkers. Staff were friendly but are very poorly trained. Our waiter recorded my wife's entree order incorrectly. He delivered the wrong entree. He apologized when the wrong dish was delivered along with our other meals and said he would bring the correct dish in 6-8 minutes. Okay. Accidents happen. 45 minutes and many loud complaints and bad excuses later, after all other meals had been eaten, after many diners around us had arrived and received their meals, finally her dish arrived. No, it was not complicated. She ordered chicken.
Our complaints to one staff person were met with "I'm not your waiter." Another staff person rolled his eyes and gossiped with his peer about our complaints within earshot.
To his credit the owner manager comped our food but not our drinks or my mother's pre-ordered birthday cake. My elderly mother was in tears. My wife was hungry but put on a good face for my mother. I am furious.
Train your staff! get the order right the first time and -if an error occurs- it is the restaurant's responsibility, not one waiter. Splitting ("not me! it was him!")" is what third graders do on the playground. Responsible professionals do not smirk, roll their eyes, gossip, or blame others. Advise customers on your website that inside and outside stairs without ramps may be challenging or even dangerous and finally, when you piss off a 90-year-old or her birthday with her loved ones present have the grace to comp the entire event.
I will never return to La Ferme and my mother will never again have the opportunity to celebrate turning 90.
