Shady Oak my not be the "place to be" but it's the place to be for the upper Marlboro, district heights, forestville area. Erica the bartender is friendly and makes the best drinks. You'll find many locals and regulars. They have a juke box, a couple pool tables and tables for customers. For the area it's a nice chill spot to hang out at.
this spot is really easily overlooked and hey, it's a pretty sweet spot considering it being a few mins from my home. cheap drinks, cheap food, loud music, and tv right up front of the bar. Pool? dance floor? Hey, i'm definitely not complaining.
I like the renovations that were made. They didn't have crab balls that day and I am not sure if they still serve them at all. They were a favorite of mine. The people were friendly and the cook were helpful. Not so sure about the new owner/ management. I'll give them another try
