Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the magnificent Onam Sadya. Picked up the onam feast they had this week. Many dishes in the meal and all were phenomenal!!! Must try if you are in the DC-MD-VA area and want some authentic Kerala food.
Food was soooo good! I got butter chicken(medium spice) it came with rice. I got Veggie Samosas and cheese naan. I came in to order took about 10 mins. Food was overall flavorful. Good prices and good amount of food!!!

The Essence is known for its flavorful dishes. Regular customers praise the consistently awesome, authentic Indian/Kerala food, making it a hit at parties. It is a breath of fresh air on a road filled with subs, fast food, and seafood boxes. The food is easily heated and enjoyed at home. The food is consistently hot and well-prepared, with generous portions of butter chicken, saag curry with chicken, garlic naan, and samosas. The Essence is a place that locals should not miss. The food is awesome; chicken was awesome. The mango magic wings were amazing. This place has good prices and a nice amount of food. Authentic Kerala food, take out only. Order ahead, they are quick and very reasonably priced. Fish fry was really good, beef fry and parotta combination was ultimate. Side of rice is included too. Staff was courteous. Amazing Onam sadhya food that they offered. Everything tasted so authentic and home made. Butter chicken has been life changing, the best ever had. This is one of those gems. Staff was friendly and responsive. Highly recommend!
