First visit and I brought my rather unappreciative parents, who disliked using the utensils and didn't like the curry dishes they ordered. Me on the other hand loved it. Food is great and the inside was beautiful. If I ever crave rice bowls or curry, I will be coming back here and bring someone who admires Japanese food!

This place is one of my go to's in Ellicott City. For anyone looking to try Kare Bar for the first time, I highly recommend their Donburi Rice bowls to start. They are very similar to Korean bibimbap bowls but Japanese. Their sangria mixes are amazing and refreshing; I definitely recommend pairing them with the donburi bowls. As far as service goes, some reviews have mentioned wait times in serving food, and that is to be seen when a restaurant is freshly open and trying to figure out their groove. However, service has been quick and timely from my experiences, even with a party of 12.Thank you guys, I am a returning customer and can't recommend you guys enough!

Delicious ramen!! Service was great except the young lady seemed to be in a huge rush. Asked if we were ready to order almost immediately after getting the menus and asked if she could bring the bill while I was still eating.

I have been eyeing this place for a while since I've been on the hunt for really good tonkatsu meals. It was one of the handful to pop up as a recommendation for the Ellicott area. I'm proud to say that I've found it-- the best tonkatsu restaurant. The waiter was very nice and attentive, and it paired well with the calm ambiance. There's pretty lights and seating. It was not busy at all when we visited but I hope in the future it will get a lot more popular-- because this place is such a golden find! We ordered the tonkatsu (pork cutlet) with curry, the chicken katsu curry, and takoyaki balls! The breading in the meat was so crispy, and the meat was plentiful, with good ratio. There was no fat pieces found in any of our meals. The food was also cooled to an edible temperature that you could consume once it was served! The curry comes on the side in a large cup, ensuring your meat does not get soggy. Overall, very affordable and it has satisfied my search for best tonkatsu at an affordable price with great service Please visit Karè Bar!

This is one of top favorites. Always excellent presentation and quality Japanese dishes. We go here almost every week. Best Japanese curry since we visited Japan. But plenty of variety, including udon, unagi don, katsu, fish, etc. The miso glazed eggplant and kurobuta sausages are yummy appetizers.

Staff was very kind and we were seated quickly and were given water almost immediately. Our food was served in trays and had many little side dishes which was very delightful. Their plates and dishes are to die for! Most of them seemed handmade and ceramic! The food was fairly good and their matcha crepe was very light and fluffy. 10/10 would absolutely come again and highly recommend the place. The food was fairly inexpensive too! spent about 67$ for 3 people. It was very empty when we arrived so please go and check this place out!!!

Delicious crispy tonkatsu! I got the tonkatsu plate, which came with a side of curry. The curry was delicious, and the restaurant itself was beautiful as well. The only complaint I had was how long it took for the food to come out, but I will be visiting again.

Immediately as you step in you enter into a elegant sanctuary, the ambiance and decor give you a upscale top notch vibe. The staff were remarkable and answered any all questions without hesitation. I ordered the chicken curry katsu and my wife ordered the shrimp curry odon. Each meal was delivered on a personal box similar to a bed and breakfast vibe. It made your meal feel personable and it was made specially just for you. Everything was so fresh and fragrant. The chicken katsu had the right amount of spicy and it definitely a great curry sauce. It came excellent pairing sides and I recommend as a good option. My wife to say the least demolished her entree all and all this place a 10/10 a great date night option.

I like the place. It is rare to have these kinds of food in the area. Cute interior and details on everything. I really want them to stay longer here.

The food is average. If you're looking to fulfill katsu curry craving because you have no desire to cook, then yes this is a good place for you. I ordered the donkatsu curry udon which came with a small side of pickles and potato salad. The curry itself is lightly flavored, more on the liquid side, and very reminiscent of curry block seasoning. On a more positive note, the katsu was crispy and well-cooked and the udon noodles were springy. If you order the potato salad as a separate side, it'll come with a papadam. This place won't be a repeat for me as I have had better curry elsewhere but would recommend it for first timers.

Fresh and well-made food. Very polite and attentive service. Restaurant decor was clean and modern. Also, we enjoyed the background music.

Absolutely wonderful! So excited for a local place to get good ramen! I used to go to akira by the mall (which is still great) but I love this place even better and it’s a plus that it’s close to home. Also had eggplant (yummmm) and vegetable curry (also yummm). ?
