Why the chicken shawarma is like shredded chicken at syriana cafe but chicken shawarma sandwich is so yummy and I like it so much
I enjoyed this place very much.
Wonderful little eatery in old Ellicott City. Great food and service.
Highly recommend!
Awesome and luscious
Really reasonable prices and great vibes (you smell warm spices when you enter and there are plenty of places to enjoy your food). The food was okay overall, but the standout was definitely the Syrian coffee — rich and flavorful.
We tried the chocolate kunafa, which had a delicious chocolate and nut filling. That said, the filo was more hard than crispy, and the chocolate syrup on top gave strong fake Hershey’s vibes — it took away from what could’ve been a nice dessert. Still, not bad.
We also got the lamb chop plate. The hummus and salad were great, but the lamb was overcooked and a bit tough — tasted like it had been pre-cooked and reheated. Nothing tragic, but not a highlight either.
I teach close by to Syriana and we always are looking for a quick, delicious lunch and discussed today over our yummy chicken shawarma that they NEVER disappoint! The lunch sandwich and salad is just so so good! Highly recommend ☺️
Excellent food, best baba ganoush I've had since I was in Lebanon.
Amazing food. Not greasy, great flavor. Got the baba ganoush - best I’ve had in Ellicott city area! Also got the vegetarian and falafel wraps and lentil soup - all fantastic! Can’t wait to be back!
Located in the middle of old ellicott shopping street , Outstanding Syrian food , one must go there if u like healthy Mediterranean food , hummus was too organic I felt the power of that food , but parking is a bit issue , had to do parallel parking(for lazy ppl) and there is free parking option in the beginning of that street , it’s an old house converted into a cafe +restaurant
Only one server taking care of the entire restaurant. No one at hostess stand to greet reservations. Food was cold, unauthentic, and not homemade. Would not eat there again, and would not recommend to anyone looking for authentic cuisine.

I tend to like trying a bunch of items my first time going somewhere, so I tried a mezze plate of things like: falafel, hummus, babaganoush, fries. It was all very tasty. My non-veg friend liked her food as well. The decor/vibe is charming. Staff was friendly but slow, as it seemed like one waitstaff was taking care of both floors that were open.
Good, very tasty, but not quite as exceptional as previous visit. Vegetarian sampler was good, but seemed like a smaller portion compared to last visit. Syrian fries are exceptional - truly a unique preparation - worth a trip to the restaurant in an of themselves.
10/10 INCREDIBLE experience to say the least. We were even offered a photo from a photographer, live music, great staff. This restaurant is a GEM.
Fantastic food, great service, & lovely live music make this place a newer must try restaurant in the heart of Old Ellicott City. Every dish was excellent and plenty of food on the place for decent prices. We will be back. Thank you for a memorable Saturday night out with friends.
The food and ambience were great! The service was not. Hopefully it was just an off night.
