I’m torn on this restaurant. It’s a really great atmosphere and fantastic beverages, but the food wasn’t very good and the server wasn’t attentive. Not sure I’d give it another go unless I stuck to the bar.
First time. Service at the podium and service at the table was excellent. Food was pretty good but not great. I ordered their BLT. If you’re going to offer it, it’s got to good on all fronts. This wasn’t. The bacon was weak, the lettuce was shredded, so I’m guessing it was from a bag, and the tomato was pink. It’s tomato season here in Frederick! It should have a beautiful ripe red tomato slice! We might come back and try something else.
This was our second time dining at Cafe Nola this summer. Unfortunately, it was a very similar experience to our first visit, just average overall and somewhat disappointing. Our issue was not with the service, it was great. Both the host and the server met our expectations. Our issue was not with the overall décor. It has a cluttered cozy-cafe vibe.
