“The Savory Spoon is a five star out of five star catering company. They advertise as “Comfort Food with an Attitude”. I cannot decide whether or not this is true if you research the word “Attitude”. Here’s what I found…. For Thanksgiving and Christmas the meals weren’t just good, they were outstanding! I found the “attitude” to be a chef’s flair to instill love and a flair for drama in her recipes. Cherie Thompson has a staff full of experts with loving kindness and hearts that want to AND do serve. Mashed potatoes aren’t just mashed potatoes- they are fluffy, creamy , garlicky, buttery mounds of perfection. My grandmother was an incredible cook. She always set a full and proper table with multiple main entrees. Having meals in her kitchen even as a young girl were recognized as a treat and mana from heaven. NEVER ever a complaint… those hands that prepared those meals were heaven sent. She never used a recipe - everything and I mean everything was made from scratch….. even down to the butter. She spoiled my taste buds from a young age. To this day, there are certain things I can’t eat because they are just not up to her standards. When I opened all the containers from The Savory Spoon - I was immediately reminded of my grandmother’s table. You can tell, you are in for a wonderful feast. The gravy actually had giblets in it!! It was every bit as good as hers! The name is certainly appropriate for what is being served. This year was a challenging year for me…. Both medically and financially. I have multiple brain tumors that make it difficult for me to stand on my feet for a long period of time. Looking downward can cause me to lose my balance. I can no longer follow a recipe because I have short term memory loss and always lose my place. I do PT each day to help me in this area, but still very challenging & frustrating. I have also been known to substitute items… I made mashed potatoes for my mom when she was sick using vinegar instead of boiling the potatoes in water. I have no idea why!!! I am capable of light cooking but have no confidence in the end result. Cherie and her team gave me so many extra meals not just for Thanksgiving but also for Christmas. The recipes are excellent and whatever ingredients goes into each is more than enough. Have you ever ordered soup in a restaurant and thought to yourself…. Gee, “ this is good, but it could have been be so much better if it had a little more crab or chicken”. You will not experience that with these thoughtful and well planned menus. It was more than enough! Cherie came through for me (a total stranger). I was past the ordering cut off time. She listened and sprung into action. The Savory Spoon has been such a Blessing to me. She even had treats for my dog. This company is a family of love and kindness. Every morsel of food that goes in your mouth is packed full of love and wonderful deliciousness from these gifted individuals! May God continue to Bless you as you have blessed many others! “Went to the olney location for the first time for my dad’s birthday yesterday. This place is awesome. The ribs are some of the best I’ve ever had. Ton of meat and it falls right off the bone. We had 3 racks between 4 adults and 3 kids and I’m eating leftovers tonight again. I give it a 5 out of 5 . Go here and eat!!!“

“Finally had the chance to try the fried ribs and it did not disappoint! Wow, those ribs were tender and a good flavor. We had the regular ribs and the lemon pepper ribs with Mac n cheese and greens with a biscuit. Good food, good people with love!!!“
