From the moment I stepped into the restaurant, I was struck by its spacious and sleek design, which masterfully creates an atmosphere conducive to both intimate conversations and larger gatherings. The layout is thoughtfully arranged, offering a sense of privacy while maintaining an open, airy feel. Opting to sit at the sushi bar, I was treated to a visually captivating display of culinary artistry, where the chefs’ meticulous attention to detail was on full display.

I began my meal with two standout sushi creations: the Sea World Roll and the Rogers on Fire Roll. The Sea World Roll was nothing short of a symphony of flavors, with each ingredient harmonizing perfectly to create a delightful balance of taste and texture. Every bite was a testament to the chef’s skill, hitting every note with precision. The Rogers on Fire Roll, while equally impressive in flavor, elevated the experience with its stunning presentation. Watching the roll arrive ablaze added a theatrical element that was as mesmerizing as it was delicious. Enjoying the Sea World Roll while the Fire Roll flickered nearby was a moment of serene indulgence.

For my main course, I eagerly anticipated the Gop-Dol Bi-Bim-Bob, and it did not disappoint. Served sizzling hot in a traditional stone bowl, the dish was a vibrant explosion of color and aroma. The medley of fresh vegetables, tender meat, and perfectly cooked rice was complemented by the spicy paste, which I added in its entirety for a bold kick. The stone bowl’s intense heat played a crucial role in the cooking process, searing the rice at the bottom into a delightfully crunchy layer. This added a satisfying textural contrast to the softer ingredients, elevating the overall experience. After a few minutes of mixing, the ingredients melded into a harmonious blend of flavors and textures—crispy, tender, savory, and spicy—all in perfect balance. This place is an absolute gem in the heart of downtown Frederick! From the moment we walked in, the modern yet cozy atmosphere set the perfect tone for an unforgettable dining experience. The staff was incredibly warm and attentive, making us feel right at home.

The menu is a delightful fusion of Japanese and Korean cuisine, and everything we ordered was a masterpiece. The sushi and sashimi were exceptionally fresh, and the Chef’s artistry truly shone throughout the meticulously crafted course.

We like the Sapporo restaurant in Waynesboro, PA better. The fried rice didn't have much flavor and it had too much carrots, green and red peppers. Sushi was good.

Waited 1 hour for a soup and another hour for sushi not enough employees very poor management. Very disappointing not going there again.

Had a wonderful time with my family. Party of 6 on a Saturday night - they were able to squeeze us in. Service was great, food was too. Grandparents, kids and all in between were happy.
Hot sake was also tasty!

My first visit was the absolute most Blessed experience ever they are truly great people. My friend brought me from columbus ohio to have this awesome experience. I'm currently dealing with round 2 of cancer and I got sick while at the restaurant. Everyone was so helpful in making me feel real comfortable when i was feeling horrible for having got sick in they restaurant. My friend explained my situation to the owner and when we returned the next day the owner prepared a special dish just for me that when I say was AMAZING and agreed well with my stomach. I felt so touched and Blessed that they thought of me in this way, too come to with something that I could eat while struggling with cancer! I've gained some new team mates tonight. I will never forget this day or they kind unfiltered genuine love they shown me and they don't know me or my store but become family for what they done for me.

Recommended dishes: Miso Soup

This is my first time visiting this Japanese restaurant for lunch. The Tonkatsu Ramen I ordered came quickly and was delicious. The downside is the appearance of the ramen. Everything were submerged and too much soup, one would say. The pork is one of the best, I must say.

My colleague waited much longer for their sushi and sashimi. The waiter did come and explain it is due to a new sushi chef in training. Hope him pick up the pace faster.

Definitely, I will come back again and try different dishes!

I have been to Sapporo II many times over the past year, and it has been exceptional every time. The quality of the seafood used here is better than any other seafood restaurant in the Frederick area. Wide selection and kind servers complete the experience at Sapporo II. Omakase is NOT the only option here, by the way. 😊 Do not miss Sapporo II if you are visiting Frederick.
