“My first time trying this place, I was on my way to work running late...stop to grab tacos to go...but I sat down to eat just ONE taco and told myself I'll save the rest for work....a long story short, i ended up late for work because i couldnt stop eating the rest of my food...the food was so good i couldnt get UP, i had to finish the rest, it was so DELICIOUS...!!!! BEST TACOS IN LAUREL!! ?“
“Fantastic food! I ordered the kofta and yogurt drink. But the best part was the naan that came with the platter! Soft yet crunchy, fresh and perfectly charred. The kofta was seasoned well. And the yogurt drink was perfectly salted.Kid-friendliness: Fine to bring kids here, counter service style means it’s more relaxed“
“First time at this location. Easy parking and nicely appointed casual interior. Orders are taken at the counter and food will be brought to the table. Same well prepared tasty Afghani food we have enjoyed at Marriottsville location. Wholly surprised when a robot delivered our food to our table?!! Restroom was very clean. Not a large seating area but we observed quite a few take out orders being prepared while we were there. Certainly worth a return visit.“
“The food is great. I made an online order on a Saturday evening and their kitchen must have been backed up. It took longer than estimated to get the food, but it was worth the wait. Delish. I give it an overall 5 stars, with 5 stars for food and atmosphere, but only gave 4 stars on service as they could have used more help at the front counter, only one person taking orders and handing out the food and it was taking longer than it should have taken. Lesson learned, I’ll order a little earlier next time.“
“Really great place to visit with family and enjoy great food. All of the foods items were great especially I like kofta and chciken kabob, chciken jalferezie, chillies chicken are my favorites dishes. My go to restaurants for authentic foods and quality never change every time I ordered.“
“It’s always a great feeling when you’re from out of town and decide to take a chance on a new spot. Originally we had planned to find brunch somewhere, but ended up doing a switch around.Looking at the reviews, we thought it would be a cool spot to check out as we’ve never had Afghan food before and my husband and I love to try new foods from different parts of the planet.PERFECT DECISIONUpon walking in you get this cozy, mom and pop vibe. You’ll find that the dining area is small and will come to wonder why they don’t have a bigger space because the amount of patrons that came in for pick up and take out orders while we were dining in were anything BUT few and far between. And we’re talking about 1PM on a Thursday. Can’t imagine what this place looks like on the weekend. The lady who took our order was respectable and kind. Made sure that she had our order correct and said thank you. Seems like basic stuff but nowadays a lot of people have been slacking on basic manners let alone customer service, so it is much appreciated and makes me feel welcome into a space along with wanting to revisit. The food took maybe 15 minutes to come out? The mango shakes we ordered came about 5 minutes before the food. Not bad at all for a non-fast food spot. I got the Thursday Special which was Do Piaza and hubby got the Chicken Malai. The lamb in the do piaza was SO TENDER! When I tell you I had to remind myself to chew? That tender. The flavor was so warm and comforting and full. Definitely had to spit out a couple of peppercorns or cloves but I’m used to that what with my family being from the Caribbean where whole spices left in food are a common thing. The Chicken Malai was steaming hot with a bright and inviting flavor. The subtle but present taste of grill char mixed with the mint and parsley spices was so delicious. Don’t even get me started on the cilantro yogurt sauce. The perfect pairing to everything we had even though it was only meant for the Chicken Malai. I’m a sauce girl so I appreciated it being a flavorful addition to an already flavorful meal.I guess I should mention that the mango shakes were also delicious. I don’t know if they use fresh mango or not but I just really enjoyed that it wasn’t too sweet at all. It was more so refreshing than a dessert. I could definitely see myself drinking that everyday (and it low key passing for healthy). I’m not a huge sweets person and I’m used to shakes being sickeningly so but this mango shake was a perfect balance of sweetness, mango, creaminess, and ice.All in all we really enjoyed this place and will definitely be back the next time we find ourselves in Columbia, MD. We’re already looking for an Afghan spot in Columbia, SC and I hope it lives up to what we experienced with Maiwand Kabob.“
“First of all our server Valentina is the sweetest human being. She was so pleasant and accommodating to our needs. That she gave us everything we asked for with such a sweet smile. She was very lovely and we were all very happy with her service. The food was amazing. Everything was great. The meats were soft and the naan bread was divine. The mango shake was soooooo good. I love it! It was just the right amount of sweetness. The whole place was huge and beautiful. With nice chandeliers so it doesn't feel like just a regular restaurant. It elevates it a little bit. It was very spacious.“
“Been coming here for a few years and it’s my fav kabob spot that’s close to home. The chicken is very tender and flavorful. The chickpeas are outstanding. Service is quick and friendly and portions are generous. Very happy customer here.“
“Absolutely 10/10. If there was a location by my house, I’d probably be here every week because I CRAVE the pumpkin dish!! The naan has the best texture and every other dish has such deep flavor that clearly took time to develop. The people working here are very nice too! Even if they weren’t, I’d still be here all the time!! ?“
