We celebrated a birthday dinner and had an absolutely wonderful time. Food was delicious as always (warm goat cheese salad with champagne vinaigrette!!!!). Staff was wonderful and a special shout out to Robert: thanks for everything! Will be back soon!

I didn't realize that there were a few Coastal Flats and that it could be considered "a chain" of restaurants because most "chain" restaurants are not as exceptional as Coastal Flats in Gaithersburg, MD. With my stepdaughter living near the Coastal Flats in Gaithersburg and a grandson playing football at Catholic U Coastal Flats is a must when visiting. This dinner experience was fantastic. I had the Hickory Grilled Chicken Breast with thin green beans, roasted mushrooms and a brown butter sauce over angel hair pasta. I don't order chicken out because it is a go-to meal at home, but this entree was off the chart, and I would select it again in a heartbeat. My wife had a Veggie Burger of brown rice, rainbow quinoa and black beans with guacamole. She had the chipotle mayo on the side and said the meal was delicious. A special shout out to our Server-John Smith- (His real name...:) who was everything You want as a Server: helpful, personable, amusing & courteous. We enjoyed our experience together so much that He went out of His way and ended our meal with a complimentary dessert...Warm White Chocolate Bread Pudding...what a treat!! Know that Coastal Flats in Gaithersburg MD is a must on our next visit.

We came for a “Mommy & Me” birthday lunch. Even with a reservation, we waited about 30 minutes to be seated. My mother has diabetes, so the delay and the very sweet dessert weren’t ideal. Her Filet Mignon looked plain and tasted a bit bland; my fish was on the salty side. They later brought fries, but by then the moment was gone. The food was average, the service lacked warmth. It wasn’t overpriced, but it felt under delivered. Not the kind of experience we expected for a birthday lunch.

The staff was as attentive as a 5 star restaurant, from the hostess to the server and beyond. We had several friendly people come by to check on us, not just our main waiter. The salmon and tuna was tender and not dry at all, and the atmosphere was relaxing and inviting. A definite “Must Go To”!!
My waiter was great and very attentive! They forgot my appetizer and the waiter checked in on me and went to grab it for us. The atmosphere is relaxed but busy with beautiful decorations. The food was okay but the bread with the honey butter wins the award in my book!!! I think these were the worse ribs, spinach and fries I’ve ever had in my life, the flavor needs to be changed. The virgin raspberry lemon drop martini was great as well.
