Located near old Rockville downtown, Mayan Monkey Brewing Co. offers a cute decor, hot food, good brews, and a very clean, stylish vibe. The food is fresh and delicious, with no misses on the menu. Highlights include the al pastor tacos, chicken tinga, carne asada, and the chilango burger with grilled pineapple and caramelized onion. The chili nachos are epic, and the mole and verde tamales are excellent, along with the crab gorditas. Don't sleep on the hot chocolate cake. Cocktails are way too sweet, but the tequila selection is modest and good. Service is attentive and kind, with friendly staff and live entertainment upstairs. The space is very spacious, with a big restaurant side with booths and tables, and a bar side with high top tables and bar counter seating. Parking is limited but options are nearby. Fair prices and a fun place to be, perfect for a good drink with a friend.
