Where to even begin? Strap in, dear reader, for you about to experience the cocophany of horror that my friends and I endured one fateful afternoon. What started as an innocent hunt for chips and salsa turned into one of the most gut-wrenching (literally) experiences when we stopped at El Castillo for lunch. The first thing we noticed upon the empty entrance was the offensive stench that hung heavy in the air around us. If the zero air conditioning weren't enough on that June afternoon to make you naseous, the flies sure were. My friends and I exchanged a look as the flies zipped about our heads, but none of us were brave enough to walk out underneath the piercing gaze of the man standing behind the counter. Upon being seated, we were met with a cruel twist of irony; they don't even have free chips and salsa. But, no worries, dear reader, they did indeed provide complimentary glasses of water complete with a tasteful white film floating on top, the perfect nest for a fly (which did indeed land in our water; what a fitting way to wash down the coming meal). The real terror began once our food arrived. Only one among us was wise enough to order a mere plate of beans and rice. The other three ordered 2 plates of nachos and a burrito. The beans had a unique and somewhat concerning metallic taste, rendering them nearly inedible. The sour cream was brought to the table in small plastic cups, drowning in a liquid substance that could only mean the sour cream had outlived several generations of flies. My dear friend took a single bite of the nachos, and declared, her eyes welling up with tears, "this is just so overwhelming." None of us were able to clear our plates. I wish that the story ended here, but alas, the worst was yet to come (straight out of the place where the sun don't shine). The four of us stampeded one another to the two bathrooms we had in our AirBNB. I'll spare you the gory details, dear reader, but it was certainly an evening for the books. Long story short: your body is a temple. Don't disgrace it with El Castillo.

I took my two nieces to the restaurant today for lunch. I found a roach in my ice tea and one in the bathroom. God knows if there was any in my spaghetti. But I did find several cat hairs. We will warn everyone about this disgusting place.

I had dinner with six other friends on Wednesday, August 18, 2021. Cuban sandwich with fries was Excellent. Emma the server did a great job with 7 at our table. Highly recommend.

Looking at the outside we almost didn’t stop then when we went in we were still considering not ordering. We actually were googling to find another restaurant. Thankfully it was Monday and the choices were limited. The place is very small only 11 tables, a d you can see the kitchen from every one of them. The waiter was very attentive and the food was promptly brought to our table. The portions were oversized and the food was EXCELLENT! This is probably the best Tex Mex food we have had in years. We will be regulars from now on and highly recommend you give it a try. Seriously remember this is not a fine dining experience this is great food at great prices you will not be disappointed!

My “Go to” spot. We come to the area a few times a year and since I was introduced to this place a few years ago, I love coming each time I’m in the area. The food is excellent and the portions are large. Whether you order Italian or Mexican, it will be good. Great, large menu. Reasonable prices for a large amount of food. Most items I’ve seen are more than enough for two people. If you can’t take it with you to eat later, it’s a good idea to share. Don’t know why this place doesn’t have more Trip Advisor reviews. It is very good!

I ordered 5/7/2021 large order for pick up. I stopped and got it guy gave it to me was only 3 boxes & lg pizza box. he said it's all there I said so the pepperoni rolls are in bag? He told me yes drove home guys were eating mine & it was wrong! I called back to restaurant was told rest of my order was there & they were sorry had to drive all the way back tried to order another calzone told it would be 45 min picked up one they forgot to give me girl said she was very sorry guy that screwed it up walked right by not a word they never even offered to take it off bill or do anything else. PISSED we order every other weekend fact they made mistake I had to drive there twice & never offered anything to make it right HORRIBLE SERVICE

The food is good yes, but the service was terrible. We were regulars as well but not any longer. I placed my order 30 minutes in advance before leaving bc my kids were in the car so we could grab ano go. My husband walked in to get the food and he asked for our order and the man had no clue. They forgot to put our order in, took them 15 mins to put in the computer, so I walk in as my husband comes out to see how long bc the man never told my husband how long it would be. When I stated that it had been over 40 mins he apologized and said I can give a discount .95 cents and blamed it on another man which I found unprofessional I was not thrilled. They no longer have us as a customer.

I get it. Covid is tough. But if you tell a customer to wait in their car for an order and you'll bring it out then you best do just that. I waited patiently over 40 minutes for my order. Finally went back in and it's just sitting on top of the oven. Staying warm. Which is fine for my chimichangas but not so great for my taco salad. This is simply unacceptable. I love this place but my business was lost tonight. I will not be returning again. When I raised my concern I got a pathetic I'm sorry as if this just happens all the time. Sorry but that's just not ok. You must do better if you want to keep me as a customer.

Our favorite pizza place! We live about 50 miles away, but anytime one of us is in the area, we pick up an XL pizza for dinner! Great quality, delicious, and great customer service. Staff is always so friendly and timing they give you is on point!
Awful. Customer service was terrible. Kitchen looked like it was on the worst episode of Bar Rescue. Their "California Steak" Panini was not steak. A frozen piece of "beef" from a frozen cheese steak Box. Would highly encourage to drive further into town than eat at this establishment.

Had dinner at El Castillo last night. Food was great - excellent flavors and large portions at a good price. Service was good. Atmosphere is typical pizza joint. Especially enjoyed the shrimp fra diavolo and the cheese ravioli in vodka sauce. Both were served with nice salads and huge portions of cheesy, delicious garlic bread (and I'm not even a bread person). We both had enough leftover to take home for lunch the next day. We will definitely go back!
