Southern Blues - Hanover Reviews
Very fast service and good customer service skills and place was clean
I recently went here to get a last second small catering order of yams, mac and cheese, and the cornbread for a baby shower. First off, the staff could not have been more accommodating. They helped me place the order and bring the order to my car. Everyone that had the food loved it and couldn't stop asking where we catered from. I will definitely come back to get my own food, and recommend it to anyone looking for soul food catering. Shout-out to Vernon, he helped make the process...read full review

Southern Blues offers traditional soul food focused on comfort and warmth. The menu includes dishes like fried fish, greens, macaroni and cheese, yams, and desserts such as peach cobbler and banana pudding. The fried chicken and smothered turkey are seasoned really well, and customers praise the stewed chicken for being juicy and delicious. The sides—macaroni and cheese, cabbage, collard greens, and yams—are very tasty, often better than other local places. The collard greens and yams are popular, with the yams being super sweet. The mac and cheese is generally good—creamy and not gritty. Cornbread is considered tasty but could use butter. Customers appreciate the friendly and helpful staff, which makes the dining experience pleasant despite the facility needing some updates. The restaurant has a reputation for reasonable wait times, especially when ordering ahead, and offers a warm, welcoming atmosphere that feels just like home cooking. The portion sizes are generous, and the corn bread is great too, making it a favorite spot for many. Although the fried quarter leg can sometimes be a bit dry on one side, overall, guests find the food satisfying and flavorful.
