“First time here and the food was amazing! The staff was very friendly and even let us sample a couple items. We got good size portions of Mac n cheese (made with a touch of nutmeg), yams (a lil too sweet for me but great flavor) collard greens, fried trout, salmon, and chicken wings. That fish was on point baby! Perfectly cooked still moist and very fresh. The mac n cheese was delish and those greens....I will Def be back next time I'm in B-more. Great job family.“

“I had a taste for soul food today and came across Ebony's Kitchen during a Google search and decided to give this a try. I called and Ebony and Tina answered my inquiries fully. My husband, son and me truly enjoyed experiencing all these flavorful foods. It was delicious and delightful. We ordered the chicken dinners with sides mac n cheese, candied yams and collards. “I was downtown to get my nails done and my nail tech was running late and I was starving. Angies was close so I thought why not try it. The place is old and it looks like it but the food was FRESH, HOT and TASTY. I had pancakes, beef sausage, and eggs. The proportion was great and I was full until well into the afternoon. I would definitely go back again if I was in the area.

Parking: It is downtown so you do have to find parking on the street and be careful to make sure it is not a no parking zone, or tow away zone.“

“I am sorry I also late for this review. Me and my brothers had an event last month and got span of a and cheese and greens. Man, people who know me I am very particular about certain foods, but Mr. Brown and Lynette Kitchen put there foot in it. Everything tasted great and people enjoyed it very much. “I'm not a "foodie". I just eat because if you don't you'll die. Additionally, I'm a very picky eater. The food at Miss Toya's was outstanding! I had the grilled pork chops, which were very tender, flavorful and smothered in a tatsy brown gravy. The sweet potatoes reminded me of those my mom used to make and I really liked the steamed cabbage. Service was outstanding! Attentive, but not hovering. Tje restaurant was well lit amd confortable. I will definitely be back!

Parking: Restaurant is in an outdoor shopping center, so parking close is a premium.“

“Went for a New Year meal. They had it and it was delicious. Greens, blacked peas, turkey wings, corn bread; all Delish. I wanted to get chitterlings, but too expensive for me. A small cup of chitterlings cost as much as a full plate of everything else. Sad but what I got was great!!!“

“I am a new customer. I ordered fish and grits and a rib dinner with mac n cheese n collards greens. Both were reasonably priced. ??Both meals were delicious. The grits were buttery n the fish was seasoned to perfection n not too salty.The ribs were tender n had plenty of sauce I was so happy to see that the collards were fresh n not canned! The mac was nice n cheesy. This is now my go to soul food place!“

“Best vegan food on the East Coast. Naijha and Greg are real people and true professionals.They are heavily invested in the community. Every time I go, it's an authentic experience.

October 2024 Update : Food still very good but one of my past favorites (lentil burger) isn't as good as it use to be. The last half dozen times I've gotten them, they are over fried. If day slightly burnt. At the same time, the vegan crab cakes have improved! They're less salty but still delicious. Just right. The live kale is still clutch and so is the mac and cheese. Unfortunately, portion sizes for sides have gotten noticeably smaller. Did I mention how crazy the yams are???“

Kai has brought an exceptionally superior Vegan cuisine to our area and even with the Baltimore metro area’s rise in Vegan restaurants Dodah’s Kitchen is clearly one of the best, and absolutely should be the restaurant on everyone’s “bucket” list. Meet Kai, talk with her and one will soon realize that Dodah’s is a literal extension, an aspect of her being. She is meticulous and one of the best definitions: (taking, showing, or involving great care and effort) Synonyms for meticulous: careful, conscientious, fussy, loving, painstaking, scrupulous, and to me, this reminds me of Mama in the kitchen !! and with that, we don’t even have to talk about the food.“

“When I stepped into Corkscrew on a Saturday night, I was struck by how much of a geniunely good time everyone was having. But when you consider that the DJ was doing his thing with banger after banger, it's little wonder.The food: I found it to be solid but some items were not as moist and flavorful as they could have been (the salmon), didn't have the kick they could have (the jerk egg rolls), and others saltier than they should have been (the collard greens), I really enjoyed their mac and cheese--it's perfect crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside--the way it's supposed to be. I would order that alone and be happy.The drinks: the bartenders were on point. We had a variety of drinks both on their menu and classics. They hit every time. They even make a great amaretto sour. The Corkscrew sour was a surprising and welcome twist on the sours we are familiar with. And I'm not embarrassed to say that I ordered an amaretto sour and enjoyed it. Like really enjoyed it. The bartenders are beyond belief.The music: we were initially disappointed that there wasn't live music this time but the DJ quickly made us forget all about it. He was playing hits from the 2000s, modern tracks, Afrobeats, Baltimore classics, and even some 70s all timers here and there. It was incredible.Vibe: the seats are so plush and comfortable that you don't want to leave. The interior design says sexy urban chic. You feel so damn elegant just being here.Service: the young man who served us was pleasant and noticeably polite. However, after we ordered from the menu, we were perplexed to see waiters walking by with plates of fried fish, steak, and salmon--all not listed on the menu.We didn't see him for some time but when we flagged him down, it turns out he that he forgot to tell us about the specials. Then he asked if we wanted him to tell us about the specials. It was as annoying as it was hilarious. I couldn't be mad at him at all.Overall: this place is awesome. “I stopped by for the first time on Easter Sunday after church! I enjoyed their newly updated decor and decided to take a few pictures while my food was being cooked. I met Ms. Tasha and Ms. Phaedra, and both ladies provided warm smiles and the highest level of customer service! “I've got high hopes that this place finds a permanent home at R House. The MoBoy sandwich was fresh with bright veggies, crispy catfish, juicy fried shrimp, and a tangy remoulade. The banana pudding could've used some fresh banana, but was exactly what I wanted it to be otherwise. Looking forward to some red velvet cornbread that I saw being prepped or some pillowy beignets suffocated in powers sugar. The whole staff was super friendly and really sold me on the place. You should go...now.“
