“Went to Kitchen +Kocktails for the first time last night. The decor was very nice, and the music was good and not obnoxious. Our server Ally was terrific! I’m not a drinker, so when I asked her if there were any cocktails that didn’t taste like alcohol, I thought she would look at me like I was crazy, but she didn’t! She seemed to know exactly what I was talking about and immediately had a couple of suggestions. I went with the mixed berry lemon drop and it was perfect for me. The crab cake appetizers and shrimp and grits with lobster tail entree were amazing. We had a great time and we’ll be back!“

Mango salsa was the best I’ve had. We also ordered the BBQ bowl. I wouldn’t change a thing in it. Try the Red Rice. It’s really good. “An absolute revelation! I brought my hiking group by this weekend (we were doing a Marvin Gaye themed hike through nearby Marvin Gaye Park, a great park to visit as well with wonderful walking trails, community gardens, local art and history) and we all enjoyed ourselves so much. Shout out to Chef Smiley for the amazing home cooked meals, we all felt like we were in a living room as welcomed guests. The owner gave us a lovely tour through the space and explained her family's deep history and ties to the community.

The food was simply delicious to the point of decadence. Go get the yams, smooth, creamy, sweet but not overpowering. The greens were well-seasoned and cooked just right. I got the salmon cakes, which were tightly breaded but bursting with flavor inside. The chicken wings were gigantic and fresh off the bird and meaty and tender. And the cornbread...cakey, buttery and melt in your mouth wonderful. As we waited, the smell of the food got stronger and stronger, signifying how fresh everything was being made. Everyone in our group of around 8 or 9 of us (those who joined us here for lunch after the hike) was raving about their meals and comfortable hospitality. It really was such a wonderful time. I look forward to coming back and spreading the word about this gem in the neighborhood.“

“I ordered fried baby back ribs on May 29, ticket number 148 from the restaurant in Oxon Hill, I have ordered these before and they were delicious. But this time the ribs were hard a scrawny with very little meat on them. Some of the pieces looked as though the meat had been cut away as if there was a spoiled spot on the ribs. Before the ribs had plenty of meat and was juicy. I will not be ordering these again. Please do better. Thank you“

“Small little greasy spot located on a fairly busy road. I want to say it used to be a KFC about 20 years ago. It has a drive through but no seating. Food is made to order. I had the French toast platter with home fries. My family had wings and fries. Nothing spectacular but it hits the spot if you’re hungry. Service was polite. The citrus seasoning is a definite don’t on the fried chicken. I like my wings fried hard and they delivered. Probably won’t go back because we don’t live near there but it was decently priced and filling.“
