Federaist Pig is good bbq with exploratory styles and ingredients. They aren't your basic down home bbq joint do that makes it fun. Currently they are still in their food truck stage and I am looking forward to when they move up to habing their brick & mortar restaurant open which should allow them more capabilities for smoking meats and meal prep.

Very good meats. I don’t care for their sides.

We noticed the Federalist Pig food truck on one of our neighborhood walks. Service was fast! Loved the black and yellow colors; it's pretty unique. Folks were friendly, offering to give us extra sauces after hearing us mention we'd like to try them all. Ok let's get into the food. The Mac and cheese was better than a stand establishment not nothing close to home made. It's casserole Mac and cheese which I always love. As for the meat we were definitely expecting bigger portions. The pork brisket was extra crunchy and the beef brisket was a little a little the dry side. Good thing we had several sauce options to use.

Best BBQ in town, judged by food options of brisket, wings, and smoked turkey. Food truck in Hyattsville no longer there, while store location in being renovated.Parking: Lot with off the street parkingWheelchair accessibility: Easy access all on one level

I love this restaurant but went to the spot in hyattsville today with my wife to grab food and the big guy was mad rude for no reason after I just asked if my food was ready. Imma just not go there and go up town instead.

Came here for the first time to order takeaway on a weekend. We ordered their combo of 4 meats and 3 sides. For meats: brisket, half grilled chicken, jalapeño cheese sausage, and pork belly. For sides: crispy brussel sprouts, fries, and mac n cheese. Total came out to around $40. We also took a sample of each of their 6 bbq sauces. What's Hot - Quality. Pretty delish. Their jalapeño cheese sausage actually has a spicy kick to it. Hubby loved their burnt ends of the brisket. The meat was still tender, flavorful, and had a nice charr flavor to it. That kind of combo is not the easiest to find. Their bbq chicken also has a nice flavor to it, which goes down into the meat. That kind of flavor is not very easy to find. No complaints with any of their meats. All their meats are flavorful and tender. The brussel sprouts were actually crispy and their fries were well--seasoned- not too salty and still soft on the inside. - Sauces. Hubby finished all their sauces, which is a compliment, especially because he's very picky with bbq sauces. - Menu. Pretty good variety, which I appreciate. I enjoyed that they have also have bbq chicken, which not every bbq place has. When we ordered their chicken as part of our combo, they asked us whether we'd like dark meat or white meat, too. That question is definitely rare. - Price. For the variety, the quality, and the portions, it's good value for money. - Location. Pretty conveniently located off a main street in Hyattsville. It's not hard to miss, either. There's a small parking lot. What's Not - Hours. Terrible. Hubby and I have been trying to figure out how to try their bbq for the past 3 months and it hasn't been easy. Every time we've driven and/or walked by this location, they're always closed. We found there's a way to order from them online, but then the next question is how do we pick up our order? There's no problem with food services having limited hours of service, but to not actually be open to the public on a regular basis is not acceptable whatsoever. Final Answer Definitely delicious and good price for value, but it's highly inconvenient to get food from here, which is the main reason why I do not plan on being repeat customer.

Brisket was dry and chewy... not moist, Sandwich did not have enough sauce on it, no napkins in takeaway bag. Workers showed no love

Great food and very knowledgeable/friendly service. My only complaint is that they were literally out of everything I wanted on the menu. I settle for the pork belly which was fantastic. I'll give them another try one of these Days

True BBQ in the DMV! Everything I've tried is flavorful! Brisket, turkey and burnt ends really have a smoky, yet moist texture. Nothing is over sauced because the sauce is on the side. Fries are crispy & spicy! I also LOVE their brussel sprouts! I highly recommend Federalist Pig!

The guys are always friendly and as welcomingas men can be. I'm not big on their sides but I enjoyed everything I ordered. The beans were a tad too "onion" flavored and soupy for me but nevertheless the meats were flavorful and smoked to perfection.

Food was decent had better at two fiftyDon’t appreciate the employee leaving their number on a napkin in my bag. It kinda ruined the barbecue experience for me. Will not be returning again.

I've always passed by their DC location and finally stopped by their MD one. My friends and I ordered the pork ribs, pork belly, brisket burnt ends, moist sliced brisket, pork sausage, brussels sprouts, and the mac and cheese. Wow everything here was delicious. We loved the burnet ends, pork belly and moist sliced brisket. Meats were so tender, juicy and fall off the bone. Definitely order the sprouts and mac and cheese. The sauces were no joke either. The Carolina, mustard bbq and mild sauces were delicious. I'd recommend ordering earlier in the day as they do sell out items. Also bring your own utensils or wet wipes as the food can get messy. Service here was great. Even though it's more self serve. Order, grab your food and eat on the benches. The workers kept asking if we needed anything and even gave us extra pickles. Great location to order some BBQ. Parking can be limited, but theres plenty of side street parking across the street.

First, we did not get what we ordered. One item was not recorded and the toast that was supposed to go with the order that did go through was not delivered. When we asked about the toast we were informed it was out and we were given a hamburger bun instead. For.what we did get, the brisket was decent. Mac and cheese was cold and flavorless. Brussels were tasty but super salty. Not sure how this earned a Michelin gourmand ranking.

Hip BBQ rig parked in an open lot along the rapidly changing landscape that is Rt.1 in Hyattsville. Good menu with all the regular items you'd expect. The sandwiches seem like the main deal here. I had the "Texas Flood" sandwich: brisket ends, jalapeño cheese sausage, crispy onions, and spicy pickles. Delicious and moist. The seasoned fries were also great. (The lot itself is crowded, so seating is limited and parking is tight. Plan accordingly.)
