I was excited to try Amber Spice because I heard they had excellent Indian cuisine, which I love. But my experience wasn’t great. Apparently the restaurant closes between lunch and dinner, but the host did not immediately tell me that when I walked in for takeout. So while I was looking over the menu, he abruptly asked me to make a selection before the kitchen closed. I felt rushed. I ordered the Karahi, I believe. The food is delicious but every time I order take out there’s something missing. Tonight it was 3 things missing and that’s unacceptable: pickles for the aloo paratha AND garlic naan AND my chicken 65. I live so far away and work in DC, there’s no way should have to drive all the way back to Laurel to get the rest of the things I paid for but wasn’t in my bag.

My family and I went on a whim and the visit didn’t disappoint. The food was excellent, they gave plenty of bread, the service was good. When we requested items, they were right on it.
