Everything about Dempsey’s exceeds expectations. The menu and ingredients are incredibly thoughtful. Everything down to the seasoning is made in house. The desserts are to die for - special shout out to the cheesecakes. I tried strawberry, original and blueberry - all were fantastic but the blueberry has a special place in my heart. This is an outstanding family owned and ran business that supports diversity and inclusion. They have choices for everyone - comfort food, gluten free options, diabetic options, you name it. I will certainly be back and recommend to all. Good people, good food.

What a fantastic small town diner. I'm so glad I found this spot.

I got the steak and cheese sandwich with fries and they were absolutely delicious.

Highly recommend!

Ate (some) breakfast here on Saturday the 7th. Waited an entire hour for eggs, toast, sausage, and potatoes. When the food finally came, neither one of us received the potatoes. My friends plate was comically empty, with his food all shoved to one side as it obviously should have come with potatoes. We asked for them and someone went to get them. In the 15 minutes or so as we ate and finished up, we never got them nor heard about them.

As we paid, and another someone asked how the food was, I told him we didn't receive everything we ordered. He didn't even acknowledge what I said, much less apologize. He just indicated where to swipe my card and to answer the question about the tip on the machine. The food was B+, but just avoid this place. There were 9 people working in this small restaurant that morning (poorly managed high schoolers with no work uniform) and they were all busy doing absolutely nothing. Left a little sour note at the end of a great weekend visiting Middletown.

We visited on July 28th for breakfast.

All of the employees were high-schoolers, save for maybe one adult? They were mild-mannered on the surface but entirely incapable of doing good work. There was a long wait for our food despite it mainly being just eggs, toast, home fries; all of which were room-temp or cold by the time they reached our table. The eggs and home fries were under-cooked (raw & unseasoned potatoes, gooey egg whites), making toast the only correctly cooked item we got. We didn't even receive our silverware until after the food, making it about 50+ minutes before we had the utensils to eat; we had to flag down one high-schooler to ask for silverware who never got back to us, so we had to flag down ANOTHER high-schooler who finally got some for us. We only got one coffee refill and no water refills, and weren't asked if we wanted them either.

I did not tip. We aren't visiting again. I can't understand how this place has a 4.6 star rating. I understand that sometimes there are bad days, short-handed, whatever... but somehow literally everything went wrong with our visit, and it was the last day we were visiting Maryland for the weekend so we got to leave the state with a bad taste in our mouths, literally and figuratively. It's like the staff were deliberately trying to sabotage our visit.

Breakfast is the sort of meal that is hard to mess up, but Dempsey's Grille managed to mess it up perfectly. I could have just gone to a Denny's or made breakfast myself; either would've ran circles around this waste of a dine-out meal.

Dempseys is the right idea - friendly staff and good staple breakfast options. But the atmosphere is very chaotic and the food took a very long time to come out.

We had a wonderful breakfast at Dempsey’s!! The eggs were flavorful, toast was soft, bacon was crispy, and home fries were seasoned well. It has such a cute little diner atmosphere, too. Highly recommend! :)

Worst experience. Owner came out and apologized for delay on food(didn’t complain about delay , just owner observation I guess) . You could tell he was working hard. Our server got our order wrong but after waiting 45 mins for food just figured we would deal with it. lol Owner offered a discount for delay , but when checking out no discount was applied and server said their prices were high. “Everyone else is high , Got to ride the wave” Not the same Dempseys as before sadly . Next time will just cook at home or hit a chain. Don’t think I’ll ever be back. I hope the owner can turn it around. Good luck.

PS:If you do goo Don’t buy OJ , coffee or chocolate milk. It’s $3-$4 and they don’t offer refills.

Best cheese, bacon, egg on a biscuit I've ever had, no exceptions. Bacon cooked perfectly, not so crispy it falls apart and not so lightly it feels like rubber. Generous helping of egg and cheese and a biscuit straight from heaven. The whole thing tasted like it was right from your favorite grandma's kitchen. A sandwich and a smile ?

Always great food at great prices. Great people too. Ran into the owner outside the restaurant after accidentally parking in his reserved spot. He was totally cool about it, making me even more excited about future visits!

Parking: Backs up to a free lot in Middletown and lots of street parking in its radius

I decided to try out this local spot after church rather than going to a chain restaurant for breakfast. I was ignored for several minutes while the waitress/hostess was training another. There was no sign to seat yourself. I guess you need to be a regular to know such things. I sat at the front counter. I was completely ignored. Yet I saw customers trickle in and their drink and food orders were taken. I notified the hostess and walked out. So I can’t comment on food. Off to tha chain restaurant.
