Let’s be completely honest; the beer has never been the draw for this place. It’s barely average and the only reason why I have even heard of it is because of old posters at Oscar’s Alehouse. I’ve just come to the brewery because of the outdoor space and my wife likes Linganore (for some unknown reason because the wine isn’t good either). But now that they don’t let kids in the building at all, this place really is a turn off. Your product already isn’t good and now you’ve alienated the majority of your customers. I get it; nobody wants a bunch of kids running around at a brewery. I’m one of those people (who also has kids) that hates when people can’t control their goblins. But don’t completely refuse people service because you don’t want kids inside.Go to another place like Milkhouse or one of the other farm breweries in MoCo if that’s your scene. This place will be gone soon.
This line in the sand with parents involving their children in this social atmosphere is another example of putting profits over family.
No kids! Credit to this place for axing the ankle biters!!
Dope brewery with plenty of ipas to choose from. Food is mostly chips, beef jerky, crackers and hot dogs. Service is really quick and they have plenty of seating indoors
Been coming here for over a decade (first the winery and now brewery). Beautiful open lawn and dog park. Decent beer and sweet wine. If you have no kids, 8/10 recommended. If you DO have kids, like we do now, you're really not welcomed here anymore. No kids allowed in the tap room or wine tasting room--a nice bartender will let you order with them. Totally understand where they are coming from, but the signage is very aggressive (no strollers on the patio, no kids or strollers in the tap room, don't touch the board games). Really took the loose/fun vibe from this place. I hope they find a middle ground.Milkhouse and Hidden Hills are the new go-to for parents.
Really disappointed in my experience here yesterday. We’ve been coming here for years and my husband and I have a 9 month old baby now. We see kids on the lawn all the time and so it’s always been a family friendly place, but yesterday I had my son in his stroller and I tried to order a beer at the Red Shedman but I was turned away because I came in with my baby in his stroller. I actually completely understand not allowing kids in there to stay because it’s a bar environment but I told the bartender I was going right back out to the lawn and he still refused to serve me. I left, and my husband went in to complain and close the tab and we will not be going back. The bartender didn’t even offer an explanation, he just kept saying no. I was very kind and he was just so dismissive. I really hope other parents who frequent this place feel the same way I do and decide to take their business elsewhere. They allow DOGS, but not children? When my husband mentioned that, the bartender said “dogs are leashed.” Okay so are you suggesting we leash our children? My baby was in a stroller strapped in and there’s no risk of him biting other guests. He was basically “leashed.” This bartender clearly doesn’t have children of his own or he would have known how absurd he sounded.
Great beer, nice atmosphere, friendly staff.
Weekends doesn't allow kids and they don't say that on website; poor service when asking about why website not showing no kids on weekend all they say is to read the sign on the door. Can understand if children not loved certain times but that should be advertised.on website which again it isnt- what breweries don't let kids Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Will not return
They don’t allow children in on the weekend and don’t post that on their website. Drove 40mins to meet friends all with kids and not allowed in. Terrible service when they are rude about the kid aspect acting like everyone should know and it’s not posted on website. Will never be back
Be warned: your family is no longer welcome at Red Shedman.I don't know whose little monsters are at fault for the recent change at Red Shedman, but on weekends kids are no longer allowed anywhere on site (maybe they'll be okay outside in the warmer months, but that remains to be seen), except in the upstairs area of the wine tasting building. Forget about grabbing some beers with friends in the taproom while your baby naps in a carrier or your kid plays Roblox- instead enjoy carting your pints to and from the taproom and out across the way, then upstairs to the large awkward event space where they've decided is the only acceptable area for anyone under 21 to be. This would be cool with me if there'd been a public announcement on either their website or FB page- nothing as of February 17th- as I definitely understand the necessity of childfree spaces, but alas there was no such advance warning. Thankfully nobody drove in from far away to catch up with us. We've brought friends several times because it's otherwise a cool location, but won't be back again, kids or not. There are plenty of other breweries in the area happy to take my Goldfish-stained money.

Important Note: Children are no longer allowed in the taproom or tasting room on the weekends.
Hopping but not too crowded Fri night at Red. Live music, excellent sour beer on draft for a few hours out with my love. Great service, clean and nice atmosphere. Mason Hare's music was enjoyable!
Great selection of types of brews!
We love this place ❤️
Beers were okay, but nothing to write home about.
