Captain John's Crab House Reviews
Really outdated place. Every booth had dirty tables and I had to ask a worker to clean a table off for us. They weren't busy maybe 3 tables eating. Someone not keeping up. The flounder sandwich literally was sad looking placed on 2 pieces of white bread. Crab dip $20 tasted of heavy mayo, flounder sandwich $15, one dozen colossal crabs and colossal priced $145. The 2 pieces of corn didn't come out until we were done eating crabs. The only nice thing here was the view and the crabs...read full review
We visited last Friday (7/25/25) for the all-you-can-eat crabs, and unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. Most of the crabs were extremely light weight with very little meat, and the shells were thin and fragile—clear signs that they had recently molted. We only made it through one round before deciding it wasn't worth continuing. A complete waste of $100. This was my first visit, and it will be my last.
The people that work there are not friendly act like they have a problem and don’t know too much about the menu besides certain things they need to be educated more about what they’re serving so just in case any questions come they can have some type of answer, been there with my kid other time with my friend not a good experience.

Captain John's Crab House offers fresh local seafood in a cozy, old-school setting with a beautiful waterfront view. The restaurant features a variety of dishes such as hush puppies, shrimp, king crab legs, and crab cakes. Customers often praise the friendly service and the freshness of the seafood, including popular items like the steamed shrimp and broiled seafood platter with crab, scallops, and rockfish. The all you can eat crab feast remains highly recommended, with many noting that the crabs are meaty and flavorful. The outdoor swinging booths on the pier add a fun, lively atmosphere that enhances the experience. Visitors appreciate the same high quality seafood that has been served for over 30 years, cooked to perfection and fresh. The restaurant has a family-friendly, old-school vibe with reasonable prices and good value. While the decor is dated and the atmosphere noisy, these elements add to its charm. The waterfront location makes it easy to tie up boats, making it accessible for boaters. The restaurant also has a seafood market worth exploring. Some reviews mention that service can be slow and inattentive during busy times, and parking may be limited. Overall, Captain John's Crab House remains a solid choice for seafood lovers seeking fresh dishes in a relaxed, waterfront setting.
