Love Troys!!!!! The food is fresh, tasty, hot and flavorful. The j*** is the best! My family and I will continue coming here. The owner Troy is kind and friendly.
Everytime I order from here I am disappointed. Today I ordered an oxtail/ j*** chicken mix for $19 w no cabbage. I received 4 pieces of oxtail, the drumstick portion of a chicken wing, the back end bone portion of a chicken thing and cabbage with my order. This has been consistent of everytime I decide to give this place another try, not enough value to justify the cost.
It hit the spot, for sure. I only wish I had more cabbage with all the rice. The j*** is very tasty and the meat falls off the bones. Thanks
Really enjoyed this place!!! Highly recommend!! Thanks Troy!!Brandywine customer
I ordered from Troy’s and was highly disappointed. I ordered the two j*** dinners one with white rice and cabbage, the other with white rice and Mac and cheese. They called me and told me they did not have enough j*** chicken for both so instead I ask for stew chicken. My order arrived and it was oxtails with red beans and rice and Mac and cheese. Not at all what I ordered smh. The food was very bland and mediocre. The “***** chicken is nothing but BBQ sauce on chicken. If you are looking for good Jamaican food please skip Troy’S!
Cabbage was ok . Seamoss drinks was ok . Oxtails not so good. But I'll try something else in the future.
I ordered the oxtail and cabbage with rice and peas. The cabbage was bland and tasted old. The rice had ZERO flavor and tasted old. The oxtails were just terrible. Probably the worst oxtails I’ve ever had. The sauce is just oil and bones. I called and told them the rice taste old “ we make it fresh everyday” impossible but I digress. I definitely will not be ordering from them again. The carrot cake was even disappointing.
I ordered a beef patty with cocoa bread. Pros, they actually had what I ordered. That’s big for a Jamaican restaurant. Cons, the bread was stale and the patty didn’t taste that fresh either. Maybe this was because I ordered the food towards the end of the day.
My original post was praising the owner for being upfront and honest about a mistake that was made. With that being said, I was asked to come pick up a replacement meal and when I called back to set up a pick up time, I was out on hold for 10 minutes. I’m assuming he saved my number and had his employee ignore the call intentionally after putting it on hold. If a $16 meal is going to put you out of business in order to satisfy a customer that you originally messed up, may I suggest closing your door permanently. Since they didn’t want to handle it appropriately like we originally agreed, my 5 star review is now one, and it’s not changing. You have one time to play with me and that’s that on that.If you order the oxtails, please tell them to hold the PLASTIC WRAP. The little girl at the front counter is as engaging as a white wall and is too busy doing whatever else to the point she can’t get orders correct. Just had someone who lives around the corner from this place ask me how it was. Needless to say, they won’t be buying anything out of there. Hope $16 was worth playing yourself, because I am just getting started on spreading the word. Enjoy!
I ordered the stewed chicken. It was delicious. Did I tell you it was delicious.

This my spot and Troy a good guy..the only flaw to me is that the cooks change a lot so the flavor of the food change from time to time...but overall a good spot
I ordered for white rice and got roasted dry rice, the oxtail was so small with tons of bones, the 2nd order for curry goat had little or no meat.To be honest, I am from down south with real good carribean restaurants, and I have tasted far better carribean food for cheap than this. $40 wasted smh
Thick gravy on the oxtails, great flavor. Delicious cakes. Disappointed person @ the window who took our orders wasn't wearing a mask. Not cool.
The worst roti I have ever had. When I called, I asked if the roti was wrapped. I got this roti in a to go thing. It was like they put the curry in and placed the roti skin on top. I tried to pick this thing up and the curry was falling out of the bottom. The potatoes weren't totally cooked they were hard. I also ordered a chicken patty. It was burnt. And hard. I am from Trinidad. This is the worst I have ever had
The food is OK (yes, just OK; I've had better), but they don't wear masks while cooking or serving your food. Maybe I'll try them again after the pandemic, but for right now it's a Hell No.
