Mamma Lucia Reviews
This was the worst eggplant parmigiana I have ever eaten. The sauce tasted like thinned-out ketchup, the eggplant was overcooked, oversalted, undercheesed, and plopped on a bed of overcooked spaghetti. I don't usually write restaurant reviews, but I felt I had to warn others away from spending $17.00 on a mess like this. The garlic bread was good, the service was slow but adequate. But please fix the eggplant parmigiana.

Mama Lucia is a pizza shop suitable for a casual night out with friends and family. The pizza has a thin and crispy crust, with a good mix of cheese and tangy sauce. Both the regular and Sicilian pizza are considered awesome, comparable to New York pizza. However, the gluten-free pizza option can be soupy. The bread and oil are a highlight of the meal, and the garlic bread has received positive remarks. The service is friendly but can be slow, with drinks not always refilled promptly. Some reviews mention that the staff is warm, kind, and genuinely caring, making it a delightful experience. Although the restaurant's cleanliness has been noted positively, there have been concerns about its overall cleanliness and lighting, with some finding it to have a peculiar smell. The food is generally considered mediocre, and while some have had negative experiences, others find it to be a reasonable facsimile of New York-style pizza, especially for those coming from out of town. The eggplant parmigiana has received criticism for its taste, with one guest describing it as overcooked and not worth the price. Not everyone may choose to give it a second chance, but many highly recommend this Olney location for the Italian food experience.
