When my friends and I visited Tillery, an upscale local restaurant, we were excited about our dinner outing. The ambiance was relaxed and fun, making it suitable for both intimate dates and group gatherings. We arrived early for drinks and were seated promptly, but the service started off very rocky. It took 40 minutes to get our first drink, and our server seemed a bit distracted, forgetting to check on us, letting our glasses sit empty, and not telling us that things on the menu were no longer available until 20 minutes after we ordered it.We also encountered confusion about our dinner reservation. We were not informed that we were already seated in the dining area and didn't need to check back in with the hostess, which led to some serious back-and-forth and delays in getting seated for dinner. After being seated AGAIN, the struggles continued with ordering things that were not available and taking 45 minutes to get each round of drinks. However, the food was a standout highlight of the evening. The crab cakes were fantastic, the scallops were delicious, and the short ribs were incredibly flavorful.Despite the service issues, our second server, Deshawn (sorry if the name is misspelled), was attentive and tried to improve our experience, which he did. The manager also stepped in and did her best to address our concerns. Despite the initial hiccups, we ended up having a good time overall. Our evening started at 5:30 with cocktails and ended at 10:25 with dessert. While we appreciated the efforts of the staff to improve our experience, I'm still undecided about whether I would return to Tillery in the future.

The atmosphere was nice. The Tillery is located inside of The Marriot hotel. I dined when there was a switch over from brunch to regular bar food service. The wait was a little longer. Also the surprise was the 18% gratuity added regardless of the service. That l didn't like.

Everything took forever. We waited 15 minutes to be seated. Our waiter was very soft spoken and slow. There was a miscommunication with our check and it took forever to get that. And then we had to wait for someone to take our payment. We ended up leaving cash and left.

Honestly, this was one of the best experiences I have had here at the Tillery ! At first I walked in and didn’t feel acknowledged as I sat waiting at the bar for a menu. After a while Whitney first noticed me on my phone (I was looking for another restaurant). She approached me with concern and the warmest sincere smile, that I decided to stay for lunch. I asked for a dish recommendation . She raved about the Poutine dish, so I ordered, and I loved it! Catherine came over to chat and check In several times and also offered a new drink that I enjoyed. I am a customer service specialist and have worked for Verizon and a few other customer service oriented companies for many years These two ladies definitely turned my experience around very quickly and I appreciated that! I will not only be back soon but will encourage my friends to dine at the Tillery as well. Kudos to those two classy young women and what they bring to this restaurant in my neighborhood ?
