2 people at my table ordered steaks. They were ordered medium and medium well. They both definitely came out rare. We pointed it out to the waiter and he took them both back. I'm not sure how they did this but they both came back basically the same way. My husband had even commented that they might need to butterfly his filet but they didn't. We weren't about to send them back for a second time. I got the lamb and it was ok but super fatty and the crust they put on it was so thick and dry. I requested medium rare, and it was pretty close to that. The brussel sprouts weren't good. The truffle potatoes au gratin were great but by the time the steaks came back, they were cold and that's just not a good dish when it's cold. The bread, drinks, and our service was good. The server was so embarrassed and we felt bad for him. I wouldn't go back.
This is our second time here — we celebrated our 27th anniversary last night! The last time we came for breakfast to celebrate my husband's birthday, and he had an absolute ball. He knew right then that he wanted to return for a celebration dinner. You did not disappoint! The food was excellent, and we're already looking forward to coming back again. Thanks
Needed to expand the reservation and called the number no.less that 6 times to no answer. Had to go to the restaurant to get the extra seats. Wedge was drowned in dressing and my medium rare steak came out well done. Waiter was overstrethed so we didn't see him again for 20+ minutes. One of our other diners received undercooked fish.
Faid-THANK YOU for providing exceptional customer service and support. Your warmth and kindness was genuine, which we sincerely appreciate. You made my Mom birthday Fantastic! Until next time, be blessed! 🙏🏾
My wife and I recently visited Old Hickory to celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary (10/10/2010)—a full circle moment since it's the same restaurant I took her to after proposing on the National Harbor pier! As fate would have it, our waiter's name was Happy (no kidding—perfect for an anniversary dinner!). He and the entire team provided outstanding service—attentive, friendly, and genuinely celebratory. The ambience has definitely changed since our last visit, but the renovations are absolutely stunning—a beautiful upgrade! Now, the food... simply incredible. The warm roasted tomato sourdough bread with fresh herbs and honey butter topped with flaky salt was a showstopper right from the start. Chef's kiss! For appetizers, we tried the Pan-Seared Maine Diver Scallops and the Bone Marrow—both perfectly executed with rich, balanced flavors. For our entrées, I had the New York Strip and my wife ordered the Smoked Short Rib. Both were 10/10! Even the creamed spinach was spot on—creamy, perfectly seasoned, and finished with just the right touch of Parmesan. Most steakhouses miss the mark with that side, but Old Hickory nailed it. We left full, happy, and ready to come back soon. Thank you for helping make our 15th anniversary truly special!

Anthony was excellent!!! I love this place. The food is always good and the service is excellent ❤️
It was nice and quiet and the service was really good! I found many items very sweet such as the bacon, sausages and butter. But otherwise, the quality and presentation was very good.
Steak was good, the baked potato was undercooked. There were not to many patrons which made the slow service hard to understand.
Our drinks and the service was excellent. Our food was very very subpar. I had to send back a steak because it tasted like a blowtorch had been used to do the char and the server even agreed. My wifes lamb was also not of very good quality. I will say the sides were decent and the server did apologize profusely and offered us a free dessert and cappuccino. So again, the service and your cocktails are excellent. The food very much left something to be desired especially at those price points.

They seated us at a broken table that literally rocked 3 inch. Yes, I geeked out and measured it. Then when they moved us the waitress barely came around. We ordered drinks and a salad waited 25 minutes after we were done with the salads for the waitress to come back around for us to ask for the check and leave.
While service at restaurants in National Harbor continues to decline, the staff at Old Hickory Steakhouse in the Gaylord are the exception. The bartenders and waiters (we had Andrew) are first class and what you'd expect from a top-end restaurant: attentive, professional, and knowledgeable. The food was done to perfection and portions were generous. We actually split the huge ribeye and still couldn't eat it all! My spouse is gluten sensitve and the menu is clearly labeled with many GF options. The Maryland crab chowder was an amazing surprise, don't miss this gem.

From the moment we entered the restaurant until we left, we were made to feel welcomed and appreciated. We asked to move to another table as the couch we were seated at was uncomfortable and we were moved right away. Our server, Ruben was so polite and very attentive. From appetizer to dessert, everything was delicious. I did find a half inch piece of thin plastic in my dessert, but I did not bring it to anyone's attention. We go to Old Hickory every year for our anniversary and love it. We will return.
Excellent and friendly service from Syeed! Great place to pop into and solid food and drink.
