Bao Bei Reviews
Best bao in the DMV, hands down! Congrats on the new location. Nice space and good location. Lean into the front of house - you guys are rockstars!
Amazing and extraordinary flavors bursting with each bite. Bao Bei is a local favorite for a reason - they’re incredible! Owner/operators are down to earth and genuinely nice people, who also know how to treat customers right and run a business.
So very good!! I got the pork belly bao and the golden veggies. Everything was so delicious, I have no notes. Definitely a new favorite spot of mine!

Bao Bei is a takeout-only restaurant that offers authentic Taiwanese cuisine. Located in a shared community kitchen, the restaurant may be tricky to find at first, but the welcoming staff are happy to guide customers through the process. The menu features delectable options like the traditional Bao Bei bao, tofu bao, and bao zi with pork and shrimp, all of which are praised for their exceptional flavor and fluffy buns. The pork is noted for being melt-in-your-mouth tender and flavorful, and the bao buns are soft. Portions are generous, with meals like the tofu-riffic bowl and dumplings receiving high praise. The food is prepared quickly, making Bao Bei a convenient and satisfying choice for those seeking a taste of Taiwanese culture. The staff is friendly and attentive, with small details like sketches on receipts reflecting their dedication to quality. Customers are excited about the upcoming new storefront and are eager to return for more delicious food, including the best buns, the pork bao buns, the braised pork rice, the crispy tofu, and the black sugar buns, which are all crowd-pleasers. The almond tofu dessert and mango drink are also refreshing and tasty.
