I like to go to this place very often, but lately the bartender who works there has a hard time taking orders and the music has been boring. Yesterday I went and saw some strange behavior from the manager, talking to the girl at the bar while looking at me and laughing — it was uncomfortable. I hope they improve the service.

We got married at VisArts up the street and took the wedding here for the after party. The ambience was great, lovely dance floor and outdoor seating for those who wanted to chat. Steven was really wonderful to work with, they got a DJ and the party barely missed a beat when the official wedding ended. They really made our night and our guests had a great time. The other people in the bar had a blast too. Definitely recommend this place for night life in Rockville.

Honestly, I can't speak much to the atmosphere inside the restaurant, but we ordered takeout, and it was really disappointing, especially considering how much we paid. The only two pieces of steak were not good, and my wife's salmon was undercooked. I do not recommend it.

We ordered some Peruvian ceviche and they were pretty good. I'd say they need to improve the fish to leche de tigre ratio as they have a good amount of fresh fish but not enough leche to let it all absorb the flavors. The lomito for kids was tasty. The service is friendly and quick. I feel like this place is more vibrant in the evenings. We'd have to come back to try the Colombian and Argentinian dishes next time.

My husband is from Ecuador and if we closed our eyes the ceviche and the lentils tasted just like his Mom and Grandma used to make. What a gem! Highly recommend if you are looking for authentic dishes! We will be back for sure!

The food was BAD! I would never coming back for the food. No flavor, limes were old, the table was sticky… karaoke was good at least, but empty.

I had high hopes for this place because it seemed like a fun and tasty restaurant that my friends and I could get together and celebrate a birthday, but I couldn’t have been more wrong. When we walked in it was hotter inside than outside so that immediately off putting. However we all still tried to have fun and were chatting until they decided to blast the music louder than any nightclub I’ve ever been to right in our ears. Let me also note that there were maybe 10 people total in this restaurant at 7pm on a Saturday, my table being 6 of them. At this point some of us had only ordered drinks, which took about 20 minutes for 4 drinks to arrive. It was so loud that you could barely hear the person next to you. Now I understand completely it’s normal for there to be live music and for it to be fun, but I’m not sure who is having fun with that sort of thing going on.

Eventually one of my friends very politely asked our server, Gabriela, if it would be possible to turn the music down since it was so loud or if we could move tables. Instead of resolving our issue when there was quite literally and empty restaurant for us to be moved anywhere, Gabriela decided to completely abandon our table and stand behind the bar talking and laughing with her coworkers. One of the people at our table eventually asked a busboy for the check and after even more waiting we just had to go up to her at the waitress station and grab the check.

So to summarize we were there for about and hour, only had 4 drinks because our waiter didn’t seem to like us but then refused to actually speed up getting us out of there, and when we paid the automatic gratuity was added on to our drinks (which is actually for parties of 4 at this restaurant instead of 6 which is the standard) which is fine but it’s honestly just the perfect encapsulation of how much of a mess this restaurant is. It’s honestly shocking they are still in business. Needless to say my group walked down the street to Thai Chef, spent over $300, and had a very lovely experience there. Highly recommend that place fyi!

Hands down, the Chaufas from Kumbia is the fried rice I have had in Maryland. It was so good that my wife kept eyeing my plate and taking food from it. But while she was scooping my rice, I was taking bites out of the super tasty beef short rib that she had. Safe to say, we cleaned both our plates. There was a live band playing in the Rockville town square, that added to the nice atmosphere we had going. Definitely coming back.
