I wanted to order from Bob’s Shanghai 66, but they stopped taking orders. Ordered basil chicken, extremely disappointed. Floating in oil and flavor was insipid at best.I spent $100 on a Door Dash delivery that wasn’t worth $30.

prior to visiting the store tonight for an in-house meal. In our $150 take out order we noticed upon arriving home (20 minutes away) that they had forgotten to include the 5 orders or rice that we had paid for. And yes, rice is not included in any entree from Peter Changs. The manager could not have been more apologetic and offered us a free entree upon our next visit, fair enough, everyone can make a mistake. Upon explaining the situation to the manager this evening, she said she could only offer to pay for the rice for tonight's dinner. She was looking at the cost of what we originally didn't get, not the inconvenience of 3 couples eating chinese food with no rice.So we finish our meal, the bill comes and the rice has been charged for. Our waiter brings this up to the manager who says she will take off 1 order, that's $1. None of this is about the money, obviously. But the manager had no concept of customer service or making something right. Very disappointing. As a side note they charged us $2.75 for fountain sodas and our refills where charged at full price.Needless to say we won't return as customer service and customer satisfaction is of no concern to this restaurant.

So I hate to write bad reviews, but this is a warning to others who may have had good food from here in the past. It's bad now. Really bad. Overly salty, but no taste in one dish. Another dish had a raw piece of beef - not intentionally rare, just raw (and the beef quality was very poor to start with). It also had lots of sugar added to the sauce which didn't make sense for the dish. Egg drop soup had lots of yellow food dye added. Low quality dumplings in wonton soup. It's sad to see a restaurant go downhill. Waitstaff also dressed strangely inappropriate for a family restaurant. All around weird vibes. I highly doubt the legitimacy of recent positive reviews. I think they have to be friends or family, or just paid reviews. Edit: I am modifying my review to two stars only so it doesn't become non-recommended (where all the other one star reviews are).

Couldn’t order a beer (No liquor license) and it was downhill from there.

I am so done with this place. After too many bad experiences I abandoned it, tonight I decided to try again. We ordered 2 dishes - tofu skin w cabbage and mapo tofu. The tofu skin was ok, nothing special. But the mapo tasted like it was made with rotting dishwater. I'll even eat bad MaPo - but this survived 2 bites before I tossed it. Avoid at all costs.

I've been coming here for a few years now and our go to is the hot & sour soup, fish or chicken (hunan chicken, hot and numbing combination, house special flounder fish). This place's food is generally more spicey but never disappoints!

2nd time ordering delivery just in case things changed in a few years. Won ton soup looks watered down & sparse wonton in it. But person eating it said it tasted good. Maybe some MSG? It was hot, so there is that! My chicken lo mein was so oily greasy that eating 1/4 of it caused GI upset. The chicken in it was very scant, and on par with the size of chow mein hard crunch noodles you can buy at the grocery store in the can. I am amazed they can get the chicken pieces so miniature. I've never had such an anemic low mein. Mostly onions in it. Ugh! Spouse's spicy Hunan chicken was too greasy & salty & didn't taste like Hunan chicken! He loves Hunan chicken & we get it at all the Chinese restaurants but this dish was thrown out. So was mine. I'm sick from it. The steamed white rice was good.

An unexpected misfireWe’ve enjoyed many good meals at Peter Chang restaurants over the years, and thought the Rockville town center spot would be great for an early lunar new year meal. This was not an auspicious start to the year of the dragon, however. The good: appetizers were outstanding - shrimp & chive dumplings were fresh and tasty; the pumpkin balls with black bean were a treat, almost a dessert. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable, and tried to rectify the later issue with the main course (see below). The questionable: The biggest surprise was that Peter Chang’s has lost its liquor license. While we are not big drinkers, this is often a red flag for dining establishments. We were also a bit startled at the attire of the service staff, including a hostess seemingly ready for aerobics class (yoga outfit, bared midriff and all). Other wait staff were simply casual, which can be fine, but also rumpled. The bad: we both ordered from the specials menu. My stir fry dry pot with steak looked incredible, but after a few bites the salt content was so high that I couldn’t continue (it seemed mostly from the meat, perhaps to tenderize it, but pervaded the entire dish). My wife’s dragon eggplant was beautifully plated and tasty, although sweet, and she finished less than half of the large portion. Why am I including it in this negative category? About an hour after dinner, she was wracked with stomach pains and nausea.Given our unexpected experience, it will be some time before we chance a meal again with Peter Chang.

While, the food and overall service at Peter Chang's felt disappointing. I found the hostess extremely accommodating and apologetic to the hectic situation. Thank you!

Food is very very salty! Service is poor, you need to talk very fast to order or else your waiter will be gone! Just want to also say food is very very salty! Location is convenient and lastly before I forgot to mention that food is very very salty!

Food was good, but a few stars taken off because the Chinese waiter with the glasses should be fired. He only served Chinese-speaking customers while we were there (I watched the whole time we were there and am Chinese-speaking myself but didn’t get served by him), and he chewed out the other waiter in front of the restaurant, sarcastically asking him, “you speak English, don’t you?” He was also very rude to a security guard who came in, getting his order wrong and was condescending to him to the point that the security guard left his money and the food and walked out. It was incredibly uncomfortable to witness. As someone who has worked in hospitality before, I’m appalled by how he treated the waitstaff and the customers. He definitely needs to learn how to properly conduct himself in the hospitality industry, and he is giving Peter Chang a bad image. On the other hand, the younger waiter with the curly hair is much better, does a great job attending to the table and making sure that everything is satisfactory.
