Very good and fresh food to choose. This Umi buffet is much better than the Umi we have in Houston tx.

This is the third time I come back this place. The food improved a lot and fast refilled. We don’t have to wait for long for the food we want to eat.Only snail sashimi had sands and I don’t know why?I love squid and oxtail so yummy.Shrimp so big and my sons love chicken, fries and pizza. But I don’t know why they still didn’t add chicken Mac and cheese?About service is terrible.I asked crab cracker and server says yes and never come back.I have to ask one more time.Servers just focus to the tables pay them more tips and didn’t care about clean dirty plates for my table. Before they bring birthday cake out still didn’t care to grab some dirty plates and I have to hide it while they taking video for my husband birthday with the birthday board. They automatically added 12% tips on the bill but server still remind you so many time to add more tips in the bill. It’s look not professional at all. They just focus to clean and wipe all the tables already left and we have to clean my table with the trash near by.

UMI Hot Pot & Seafood in Rockville, MD is amazing! 😋🔥
They have fresh seafood, sashimi, sushi, hot pot, fried rice, and so many options to choose from. 🦐🐟🍣

The seafood tastes super fresh and high quality — you can tell right away when you take the first bite. The sashimi and sushi are delicious, and the hot pot broth has a lot of flavor. 🍲✨ The fried rice is also really tasty and pairs well with everything.

The place is clean, service is fast, and the food comes out quickly. ✅
Perfect restaurant for family, friends, or group hangouts — you will leave full and happy. 😄

Im transparent foodie...if you are sushi 🍣 lover this is for you...Everything was good.
I have a semi- extensive expensive palette so frozen and batch cooked food isn't for me.... The best thing is cocktail shrimp which was thawed however decent....Look its $40 ...less than 1/2 dozen crabs 🦀 or happy hour delicate bites and cocktail

Honestly the best buffet around. But of course, like with every buffet, there are hit and miss dishes but most of them are very good. Only down side is the wait time. Just be prepare to wait 1-2+ hrs depending on day and time you go. You can use a kiosk upon entering to add your party to the queue and they text you when it’s ready. Highly recommend to pay attention to where you are in line so you can come back if you do decide to leave.

**Now I decided to add this part in but just know it’s not part of the buffet food.** They had this Facebook promotional event where they’ll ask you to post their flyer on your Facebook page and each person who post will get steak and lobster for free. They didn’t seem to be opening advertising it in the restaurant, seems to be an ask to know basis. We only found out about it after another table personally told/show us. Now, that was fun and all, steak was good but lobster was RAW. We notified the server, he told us to cook the lobster in the hot pot broth if we need it more cooked. Not the response we expected but it’s free so I won’t complain. I figured these would be helpful for others to know.

Simply put the food was bad. Rice was hard and everything was cold. Maybe instead of paying influencers on TikTok focus on the quality of food every night

We started with high hopes, as the restaurant's spacious atmosphere and the attentive service from the greeter and waiter were genuinely lovely. However, the all-day weekend dinner pricing immediately set an expectation for value that, regrettably, the food simply couldn't meet. Despite a wide variety of options, our palates felt consistently disappointed; the sushi lacked firmness, the snow crab legs were watery and hard to eat, Buddha's soups was over done and the cooked items were generally bland. The final puzzling elements were paying over $40 per person to use disposable plates and chopsticks, and the confusing bill structure where a 12% service charge (meant to compensate all staff and wait staff too) was accompanied by reminders from the persistent excellent wait staff that they still needed an additional tip, creating a bizarre and unwelcome double-dipping situation that soured the entire visit.

If I can I will give minus stars for the service. Staff is extremely rude. They need to improve how to treat their customers. The only good staff member was the manager or supervisor. Very disappointed. It was our first and last visit there

I’ve been to this buffet a good 4+ times in the past year and i think it’s peak was when it was closer to opening. One thing I will say is that the sushi is pretty fresh and I always like it. There’s not many hot food options that are super interesting to me though. Sometimes they randomly have dinner price because it’s a “holiday” but i’m not sure black friday counts.. 😂 Anyways they added this new 12% service change which literally states it’s not really a tip but the money goes to all the workers. so, technically a tip… anyways I always tip 18-20% but with the service charge I just wanted to go with the 12% not to make it difficult. However, at the end of my meal my server pointed it out and said this service charge isn’t a tip and feel free to tip if you thought my service was good..but it really wasn’t that great. I probably only saw her like twice tbh. I felt awkward to not give a tip after so I talked to my family about it and I’m guessing the server heard me say i was going to tip a little and decided to lurk behind the table and watch me sign the receipt...😬 And since apparently tipping isn’t necessary now she has to swipe my card twice to get the tip. I thought that this was just really unnecessary and kind of unprofessional to lurk and take my card again just for a couple of extra dollars.. whatever though. I’ve never had this happen with the servers here, usually they are very nice and not awkward at all. Will come back but hope it doesn’t happen again.

When you plan to visit this restaurant, make sure to check if it's a Chinese public holiday.
Even though it was a weekday in the US, they charged us the weekend rate because it was the Mid-Autumn Festival in China.

This place was really cool to experience. The buffet was $39.99 per adult (ages 11 and up). There was plenty of sushi and the ramen was really good. The unlimited boba tea was good as well. It's a great place to be able to try different things that you normally wouldn't try. My kids loved the experience. We will be back soon.
