It's a cute restaurant in the house, but it didn't seem to have any air conditioning. The bathrooms were upstairs and unmarked, I had to guess which door to open. The staff was nice, but kind of inattentive. I had to ask him to tell us what was what, and even then he kind of dismissed me. The food was very spicy. Sure I expect the food to be spicy but it seemed spicer than other places. The bread was good. And the water tasted metallic, they really should filter it.

Really good food and friendly service, both indoor and cute outdoor seating with umbrellas. Parking garage across the street, which is all you can ask for in Silver Spring. One entree is probably enough for two light eaters, especially if you also get an order of sambusas

Shout out to my Ethiopian brothers and sisters for this phenomenal establishment! Looking for authentic Ethiopian food? This is the spot. I was greeted by warm and welcoming customer service. I stopped in as soon as the restaurant opened and was able to choose my own table. I ordered veggie sambusas as my appetizer, traditional Ethiopian tea for my drink, and lamb tibs for my main course. The drink was warming and earthy! These herbs helped digest your food and calm the senses. Ethiopian cuisine is like medicine to the body and soul! The sambusas were so delicious and warming!!! The sauce that came with it was very warming and flavorful! I felt both fulfilled and like my senses were singing! The lamb tibs were simply divine! Juicy, tender, and flavorful! Paired with the injera bread and the vegetables! Do not get me started! During the time I was here, many people were coming in and out of this place. Best believe I will be back! It is a nice treat and well worth it! Cheers!

Of all the Ethiopian restaurants that I’ve eaten at in the DMV area, this one was the best! I thought the food had amazing flavor without being overly spicy. The service was great, and it was a cozy atmosphere. We had the veggie and meat combination and shared amongst three people. I will absolutely be back next time I want good Ethiopian food.

The food was good & tasty as an habesha, but the customer service is so unorganized & lack of understanding. For example, the tea's we ordered was so sweet, they add a sugar & honey by their own without considering the interest of their customers. They have to bring the tea or coffee beside with the sugar with out adding sugar or honey.

Bete (in Amharic: my house) feels exactly as it sounds: like home. Everything about this restaurant is warm and welcoming - and consistently over time. A real gem.

I have been here more than a few times over the years. The people there are very nice and helpful. It is authentic Ethiopian food. The food is very good but not amazing. It's cool inside and they have a nice outdoor space out back.

This was our first time here. The food was very good! Of course, I haven’t been to an Ethiopian restaurant that I haven’t liked. We got the vegetarian combination. Portions were generous, and the staff was extremely warm and welcoming. Dining area is tiny.Vegetarian options: They offered the usual vegetarian dishes served at every Ethiopian restaurant. Everything tasted just the way it should – could have been a little more flavorful.
